We felt like we were transported to another time and place! Truly Magical! The garden so beautiful with views over the little village and the Dordogne river immediately below, the Castle immediately above, hot air balloons at dusk and a well equipped kitchen for us to cook the amazing local duck dishes! Our beautiful and attentive host Martine and owner Frederique, always so quick to reply with suggestions and helpful tips. And thankyou Martine for arranging our car space and greeting us on arrival and farewelling on our last 🙏🏻💖 a truly magical week of kayaking the Dordogne, exploring chateaus and incredible gardens, relaxing afternoons in the garden enjoying an aperitif and the beautiful endless twilight! The interior of the Chateau was spotlessly clean and modern. The hotel manager spoke flawless English and was ready to answer any requests we had, and to arrange dinner reservations for us. Everything in the place was of top quality. We were told that renovations had been done less than a year previously. The manager greeted us personally upon arrival, gave us a tour of the key features of the house and grounds, and a brief history of the place. She then provided complimentary beverages to enjoy, followed by showing us our room and it's features. We were treated like nobility, everything was first class!

Hotel is located in beautiful surroundings, view from your terrace of a valley, where deer could be seen every day. Very nice room, with a lot of amenities, like Nespresso coffee-machine, very clean. Very hospitable and kind owners, who did everything they could to ensure you had a pleasant stay. Food in the restaurant was delicious, besides a la carte, every morning a menu du jour was presented, in which adjustments could be made, if you did not liked certain courses.

    A pleasant small hotel in a beautiful location. in this historic village on the Dordogne river. Paid parking is opposite and you can walk up to the Chateau. The rooms are average size but comfortable and with views over the viillage towards the river. There is a bar with ourside seating overlooking the river. This was our second stay and this time we tried the hotel restaurant . The food was outstanding!!!

    One full day would have been enough to see Beynac and walk...

    One full day would have been enough to see Beynac and walk to Castlenaud and back - two nights in the apartment would thus have been enough for me. BUT - if you have a car, and family, there is a lot to do and the town is much less crowded than Sarlat.

    Apart from Beynac-et-Cazenac is so beautiful and interesting place to stay there are lots of other things to do and see, such as visiting castles, hiking, taking a boat on a river, canoeing and just visiting other nice little towns and villages with an excellent views! You can easily stay there 2 weeks and it’s still may not be enough to visit all spectacular places around.

    We visited Beynac in the middle of the summer holidays, it was as if hell had broken loose, so many people, so many cars, buses and so on. Besides that it is a wonderful destination, next time we will try to avoid the 'high season'.

    It was a beautiful small town to relax in and there were also some lovely attractions. The Beynac Castle was the highlight and many chateaux are in the area. There were enough small shops and restaurants to visit and all in all it was a lovely stay. We were there for 3 nights but could have spent longer in the area.

    Beynac is a nice base for exploring the majestic Dordogne region. La-Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud, Domme, and Sarlat are all within 10 km or so, and Beynac itself is a lovely riverside village. You can't go wrong just about anywhere in the Dordogne, but you can definitely go *right* in Beynac.

    This was a beautiful place to stay with wonderful views over the valley and Beynac itself. The location was perfect with nearby hotel allocated parking which was convenient. Melissa was extremely helpful and this was a special place to relax.
