Friendly and helpful staff. I was able to leave my suitcase during the sightseeing of the city as I had my flight back at night time. Bed is very comfortable, perfect to have a good rest after 17 kms walk in the Sentier du Litoral and surroundings. Just a few minutes walk from train station. Supermarket opposite the hotel. Thanks for great stay!!

Chateau Le Cagnard was one of the most memorable accommodation I’ve ever stayed in - it is set in a 13th century castle, many of the rooms used to be guards’ quarters. Special thank you to Nicolas for making us feel so welcome in the beautiful Tusnelda room. This is the kind of special old world luxury that you can rarely find nowadays, with little details through the chateau halls that makes it feel so authentic and alive.

Not much around other than bars and restaurants which were...

Not much around other than bars and restaurants which were mostly Italians and the others sold pizza and pasta! Beaches are all pebbled so we went to the private beach clubs to get sunbeds (different prices at each one, so check before booking) or maybe look at buying a deckchair or sunlounger at a local shop, it will definitely br cheaper. Highly recommend the Pennetti Pizza Club on the promenade and Pauls patisserie. Train station easy to get to and trains very reliable and tickets are well priced. We booked each day through thr trainline app.

We stayed in Haut-de-Cagnes rather than Cagnes sur Mer.

We stayed in Haut-de-Cagnes rather than Cagnes sur Mer. Beautiful hilltop village with swifts swooping through the narrow cobbled streets at dusk. In Cagnes-sur-Mer itself, bars and restaurants don't seem to be open all that often? Can be difficult to park in Haut de Cagnes. The village is close to the hubbub of the coast, yet still relatively tranquil.

Lovely place, LOADS to do on the see front.

Lovely place, LOADS to do on the see front. Great location with easy access to the motorway which opens up loads of fantastic locations in the area. Be aware of the traffic. the scooter riders in particular are mental. We've encountered a few quite suicidal I might say. If you're renting a car from the airport, I might say the the extra insurance is worth it. It's almost impossible to find a local car undamaged.

People are very friendly everywhere (except some bus drivers...

People are very friendly everywhere (except some bus drivers). Most people switch to English and are ready to help if necessary. The service is also very good everywhere. The place is not a party location, more for families and people who would like to have a quiet vacation. There are modern coffee places (Fragile, Copenhagen coffee lab) in addition to more traditional brasseries and boulangeries. Wine by glass is tasty but also very reasonably price everywhere.

Cagnes-sur- Mer is a thriving hub about 4 miles from Nice with train and bus connections to all the surrounding resorts and hill towns in the area. There are plenty of shops for food, a market and lots of restaurants. a free shuttle bus is available to take you to the hill village of Haut Cagnes, well worth a visit and there is also a free bus to the beach although lots of the local buses serve the beach too as well as it having its own station Cros de Cagnes. A ten minute walk brings you to the station.

It is a town which combines the promenade ( tourist...

It is a town which combines the promenade ( tourist area ) and a working town with lots of shops, market and bus and train stations. The town provided easy access to Vence and Nice. Those interested in Art and History will be delighted with Renoir’s house and the Grimaldi Palace in Cagnes-sur-Mer. The Matisse Chapel ( Vence ) and lots of musee in Nice. All within 30 minutes by bus or train.

The location of the hotel is great. It is very pleasant to have breakfast with the sea view. The hotel was clean. There was no breakfast. But there are nice bakeries and restaurants nearby. Things like glasses, plates, forks, and pans are available in the room. There is no hairdryer. The beaches within walking distance of the hotel are generally pebbly. You should take a car to sandy beaches. The street where the hotel is located is very fun on summer evenings. Great for walking and cycling.

The place is on a hill, you get to have a good view of Cagnes-sur-Mer sur mer. There was a “free bus” from Square Bourdet. Liked the abundance of natural light and well stocked kitchen cutlery.
