Everything about Domaine du SAAJ was excellent and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to spend either a little or a long time in France. We received a warm welcome on arrival (from our host and the dogs) and found the property ready for us despite arriving ahead of our scheduled check in. Although towels aren’t included in the price, we requested them on arrival and they were delivered to us in an hour with no fuss. The barn conversion was perfectly refurbished to make use of the available space, and done in a manner befitting rustic France. It was comfortable, clean, and homely, with the location allowing you to enjoy rural France but with multiple cities (and countries) easily accessible (we travelled to both Paris and Belgium within a couple of hours). There is a delightful Boulangerie just three minutes up the road if eating croissants on hand painted plates is your thing. The swimming pool is excellent, offering clean water and comfortable loungers to enjoy, suitable for both adults and children. Our youngest child loved the small park, which included a small ride on tractor and a castle. The property also has multiple animals (dogs, goats, horses, rabbits) which added to the experience for the kids. I can’t recommend the property highly enough, and if we return to France next year, we wouldn’t look anywhere else.

The converted stables were very spacious and comfortable for us. We were six adults and had five bedrooms and two bathrooms with separate toilets at our disposal. The kitchen was very well equipped and outside there was also a barbecue we used. The dining/lounge/kitchen area was very comfortable and spacious with three patio doors letting plenty of light and air in. Free WiFi and access to digital television channels was also available. Outside was just stunning. Very private and quiet due to long private access road and farmland on all sides of the property. Horses and cows grading there. Plenty of seating outside as well to enjoué the country view. The property was in easy access of the cities Calais, Boulogne and the picturesque seaside resorts with the fabulous white beaches and clear blue water at Hardelot-Neufchatel and Le Touquet Plage Paris. Just beautiful. Bakery, supermarket, petrol station, restaurants and places of interest are nearby (lots of golf courses, equestrian centres, castles, museums and first and second world war memorial places). We fully recommend the property and the area for touristic exploration. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and took great pride in making us very welcome. The same friendliness applied to all the locals we met. Great region, la Côte d’Opale!

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Perfect for a one or two night stay if visiting the area or travelling to/from deeper in France. The staff are all helpful. However, at mealtimes there did not seem to be enough of them. The buffet breakfast does not work very well due to the shape of the room.

Sunday staff were offhand not at reception when we arrived...

Sunday staff were offhand not at reception when we arrived or in bar when we wanted to order a drink. We were on 2nd floor given a key no lift or offer to show us our rooms. The girl was more concerned with going outside to smoke with one of the men when we were in the bar than attending to guests. The Monday staff in comparison were excellent helpful attentive and efficient. No restaurant on site open Sunday evening was a downside.

We didnt reliase there were satellite rooms so we didnt stay in the actual house. However, our room was very spacious and comfortable. The A L'a carte menu was very poor. On our night we had the choice of only 2 starters and 3 main courses. The grounds need some attention.

NO Dinner Kitchen was closed breakfast OK we was staying in a building in the grounds NOT the hotel as shown had to pay 60 + euro for taxi each way for dinner the hotel said they wood look after us for dinner close by not 15miles away.
