I have been several times to chateau les muids. Its a great place if you are traveling through France as it is near the motorway. The building and decor is everything a castle should be with rich wood paneling and decorations that feel traditional and warm. The staff are wonderful. So kind and generous.

I loved the location in the quiet small village. The dinner served by the owner and the calm relaxing atmosphere. The facilities were ideal for our needs. We stayed overnight en route to our final destination. It was decently equipped and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The TV was good with Netflix/Disney/Prime apps available (you need your own log ins) and WiFi was excellent. The area was quiet and parking was easy. We had a spot on the street right in front of the house but there is also a private spot available. If you want to eat out, I'd recommend booking in advance as there weren't many places within walking distance but several a short drive away. There is a supermarket within walking distance, open until around 8pm so you can pick up items for a meal.

Our child had a blast playing with the toys provided, which kept them entertained and allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay even more. It's touches like these that make a vacation truly special and memorable. The location of the house on a charming, cozy street added to the overall appeal. It was such a pleasure to wake up in the morning and step outside to take in the picturesque surroundings. The ambiance of the neighborhood perfectly complemented the beauty of the house itself. Our stay in this house in La Ferté-Saint-Aubin was a delightful experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-appointed home away from home in the heart of France. We encountered a minor issue with the front door lock, which had a special security feature that we couldn't figure out. However, the owners quickly sent someone over to demonstrate how it worked, and their prompt assistance was greatly appreciated. It's clear they take the comfort and safety of their guests seriously.

From the beginning our host made us feel very welcome.

From the beginning our host made us feel very welcome. The house is just wonderful. It is spacious, calm and peaceful. It has works of art, statues, ceramics prints and paintings all of which are interesting and add to the feeling of being somewhere special. Our room was spacious and delightful. It was spotlessly clean. It had tasteful, well chosen furniture, and a ceiling fan that was completely silent. After we had settled in the room we had a glass of wine in the garden under the trees. Our only regret was we did not eat there. it is clear that our host is a very good cook. We saw the meal he was preparing for the other guests. The breakfast was lovely. We had croissants we had seen being cooked the night before, there were 4 different sorts of jam made from fruits from his garden. There was a whole tray of different sorts of local honey. The crowning point for us was delicious egg made from the eggs of his hens what had a run and luxurious house just outside the window in our room. We could see they are very happy hens. We ate in the Auberge next door which was easily a poor second to eating in the accomodation. We were enroute for somewhere else so did not explore the area much but we are going back to stay in the Clos des Poulies for longer and are looking forward to walks in the forest and so on.

we used the area as an overnight stay en route from south of France to Calais crossing to return to the UK. We arrived in the evening and set off soon after breakfast. We did not look at anything in the close vicinity, but noted that it is about 30 min drive from Chambord Chateau, which is somewhere that I would like to visit in the future.

We randomly chose a place to stop over on our way back from...

We randomly chose a place to stop over on our way back from vacationing in the south of France. Well, we were surprised by this busy village 25 minutes from Orléans. The area is surrounded by forests and lakes where we spent a good day wandering with our dog. We also visited the Château La Ferte Saint-Aubin which is undergoing restoration.

We were only there briefly; from 4 p.m. until after breakfast. But there's a lot to see. We only saw the magnificent stables of the impressive chateau. So we'll visit that next time. It's a charming village.

Lunch is only à la carte, but excellent. A truly unforgettable stopover. Excellent value for money in a renovated castle. Situated in a natural, green, and tranquil setting. Facilities include a swimming pool, sauna, hiking trails, bar, terrace, and more. Highly recommended for a few days.

The grounds of the hotel were intriguing with goats & sheep grazing on the lawns, ducks & swan on the lake. The animals were herded away to an enclosure during the late afternoon. Our bedroom/bathroom were comfortable and location was quiet. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and the waiter was most helpful and attentive. Breakfast spread was excellent with great choices and the waitress was friendly and hospitable.
