Apart from the wonderfully huge sign saying my name for all to see, it was magnificent to have a hotel just for me ...... In all seriousness, I hadn't stayed here before, or in fact in the area at all. So, it was a very pleasant surprise to find this little gem of a hotel. Easy access to the hotel, right off a main road, but not at all busy and noisy. The staff were so helpful and full of smiles and helped out when my French was somewhat lacking in areas. The rooms were very comfortable and well 'stocked' - as in good sized towels (but always could be a little bigger). I liked that there was a vending machine in the hotel, good range of drinks and snacks. Check in and out times were good, and check in and out process was quick and efficient. We did not use the hotel restaurant as we were busy for one of the nights, and the second night was a Sunday, so they weren't open - but the menu looked great and the actual restaurant was great inside (you walked through it to the breakfast room). The breakfast buffet was good, a decent range of food and drink, good size cups and glasses (not the tiny ones where it is like chugging down a shot of orange juice). We didn't use the swimming pool, but it was outside of the window of the breakfast room. It looked a good size and was clean with clear water.

    It's a charming flat, with traditional stone features, a lot of character, but with all mod cons, airy and furnished with taste Lovely and spacious, very quiet, lots of extra linen, crockery etc All the appliances are ultra new and clean Large TV, for those who want one I would most definitely go back if I have to visit next year (which is likely), and have recommended it to my sister who may well have to go there later in the year Far, far nicer than the place I stayed in La Souterraine last year there

    Nadège was very understanding about my last minute booking. It was not particularly convenient for her, but together we sorted out the essentials. A very cute little space, clean & cosy. If I hadn’t been incredibly tired & unwell from my long voyage, I would have enjoyed more the centre ville vibe. A bit noisy being so close to everything. But off-season, La Souterraine is well worth exploring. Merci Nadège, à bientôt, Robyn.

    What a little gem of the hotel we found! Visiting friends in a rural area this was 15 mins drive from them so ideal for us. It was lovely and quiet. The hosts were wonderful, very attentive and even had a delicious dinner ready for us when we arrived later than expected. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable price and there was a good choice of cold and hot selections.
