The stay exceeded our expectations, the hosts were charming and welcoming. The room was lovely, well laid out and clean and breakfast was wonderful. The other facilities would be great if you were staying longer( we were only there a day), there was a kitchenette, coffee maker, small fridge, kettle and cooktop. There were also basic kitchen necessities like cutlery, mugs, etc...

Quiet town, with some charm.

Quiet town, with some charm. Very good geographical location. It doesn't have much to see, but it's a good starting point for sightseeing in the area. Both at the Auberge Catalane and at the bar in the square, we were treated very well, very attentive and friendly.

I arrived from the station, which is about a mile away, but...

I arrived from the station, which is about a mile away, but I prefer walking. If you have a car, you can take excursions in the area. One attraction is the Yellow Pyrenees Train, which departs from La Tour station. There's a restaurant; it's a small, quiet village.

It is a small town that in itself is not very attractive but...

It is a small town that in itself is not very attractive but has a splendid mountain setting. We had a very good lunch at the Auberge Catalan, menu for 23 euros, wine included. We stayed and slept very well at the Maison Carolane.

The location it was the only hotel in the area and the host was helpful under the circumstances . The hotel is very rustic and I would imagine very cosy in the winter . We specifically booked to experience the Yellow train and choose Latour de Carole as the start of the journey . Even though disappointed the restaurant was closed the host opened the bar with wine and beer . The break fast was typical continental and made early for us as we had a early start . I think we were the only guest staying at that time .

Hot coffee and cold meat and cheese with fresh squeezed OJ and homemade jams and yogurt. Dress warmly and you will be fine. Energy costs in Europe have skyrocketed with hotels unable to recover the cost. The menu had a wide variety of delicious options and a comprehensive Catalan wine cellar. The town has about 480 people and is 1.5 miles from the train station with Sr. Coch taxi service available. Sr. Serrat and Señora Isabel have made this inn a culinary destination.

Very beautiful place. We had mountains view and it is wonderful. There is a road near, but not noisy. It was very warm in a room, usually I’m cold in winter in hotels , but here not. Also the owner tried to help us when we left there on Saturday evening without food , thank you !
