We were on a big road trip from the north of France to the south of Spain, driving in a car with a roof box, so I couldn't deal with anywhere with an underground car park. Les Criquets has its own secure car park, so that was the first reason I chose it. And what a good choice it was. The place was perfectly situated just to the north of Bordeaux, we were given a very friendly welcome from Madame and she was more than happy for us to have our two small dogs in our room for a very reasonable surcharge. Blanquefort station is only 5 minutes from the hotel and you can take a tram from there into the centre of Bordeaux. It's a 25-minute journey and you don't have to worry about car parking. The hotel spa is also excellent with a swimming, sauna, and steam room. We also spoilt ourselves with a massage. The whole spa is kept scrupulously clean, as is the whole hotel. We didn't eat in the hotel, but there was an excellent bistro 10 minutes walk from the hotel at which we ate both nights of our visit. Breakfast in the hotel was simple but exactly what was required.

    We visited for wineries and would love each one was a little bit different from large to small. We did a lot of wine tasting and all the people were very kind and giving helping us since we only speak English. They were very accommodating and we learned so much about wine, growing of wine, tasting of wine love the Medoc area

    It's a beautiful hotel in the middle of nature. We stayed with a group of friends for the Medoc Marathon and had a fabulous time. If you don't just come for the Golf, you will definitely need a car to move around, as there is nothing in walking distance, such as villages, restaurants, shops etc. The hotel was modern and had good facilities, we enjoyed the pool and a massage in the spa. Staff was very welcoming and friendly, and the food was great, especially with the beautiful view from the terrace. Definitely would stay there again.
