The location is right next to Mont Blanc with beautiful Mountain View’s. The room was basic but very nice. Breakfast was very good with several hot choices. We would definitely stay there again.

Serene location with quick access to activities. Onsite parking was easy. Spectacular views both from the room and the common areas. The staff was extremely welcoming and offered to help with everything, they were also easy to reach. The chalet was in very good condition. Nice pool area and sauna. Go there and you won’t be disappointed!

We were on a mission to revisit Parc de Merlet with our grandaughter thirty-six years after we took her mother. The Parc delivered, with Chamois, Mouflon and Marmots to enjoy. The views from accommodation on that side of the valley are the best in the valley. In Les Houches village, the local patisserie was visited and a different cake enjoyed every day. There were plenty of paths (including Tour de Mont Blanc) into the forest, for walks from the chalet. Wonderful Alpine wildlife is easy to find. It was convenient to take the free train into Chamonix and take a ride to Le Brevent then walk the ridge and back to the chalet. We did the Mer de Glas, to from Chamonix. We went up to Bellevue on the teleferique and walked across the alp, finding several wild flowers and even a rare Wart-Biter Grasshopper! We then took the Tramway du Mont Blanc down to Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains and had a lovely afternoon in the beautiful park. There was a very tough Via Ferrata for the over 70s (with 50 years experience) and a Go Ape-type circuit with a rock-climb included in the trail for the 10-year-old and her Mamma, then train back to Les Houches. One weekend evening was lively down in the village, but up on the hill we could sit out in relative calm and stare at the sunset on snowy Mont Blanc, stars and the torch-lights of mountaineers picking their way down. All-in-all, very relaxing.

Pros: The chalet is spacious, well located, and looks just like the photos. Beautiful surroundings. Cons: Very expensive for the experience. Out of 10 days, 5 with no hot water. Support was unresponsive (calls ignored, WhatsApp replies delayed). With small children this was very hard.

Don't stay overnight in crowded Chamonix, unless you like a...

Don't stay overnight in crowded Chamonix, unless you like a Disney-kind of atmosphere. Instead, village Les Houches has pleasant places overlooking the Mont Blanc glaciers. Easy bustrip (in summertime every 30 minutes) to take you to nice and easy or more difficult to reach summits and glaciers, by yourself or by taking a cable car.

Les Houches is a very beautiful town with bars/restaurants within walking distance. Free bus service and only 15mins from Chamonix. We had dinner in our hotel couple of nights Les sainte antoine which was very nice and would recommend.

For skiiing Les Houches is catering to all beginner to intermediate needs. Be early (months) to catch a ski instructor and be prepared to either cook at your accommodation or drive to somewhere else because the village doesn't offer too much for dining out.

No ski in/ski out, but centrally located for different ski areas. We explored Les Houches/St Gervais, Megève, Courmayeur and Chamonix with one Mont Blanc ski pass.

Good choice for sightseeing in the Chamonix area. It's a bit far from downtown Chamonix, but we drove with a car, so there was no problem. The hotel is modern, youthful and lively. Our mezzanine triple room is big enough for one child and two adults. Breakfast was nomal. I recommend it for family trips.
