Outstanding gîte in the village of Combles. It's located next to the house where the owners live, very spacious and fully equipped with everything you need. Actually, we were suprised by the size and comfort provided. The contact with the owners was also very relaxed and friendly. We felt welcomed, since our kid was allowed to play with their kids and use some of the toys in the garden. Since we were only on a stopover I can't say anything about the location as a base for activities in the region, but it seemed nice and we would like to come back for a weekend or so.

The property was perfect. The outside garden and internally everything was new and we could recommend the property to anyone. We would give the property 6 stars if we could. The property owners were courteous, helpful and responded to our questions promptly. We will be back.

I didn't read any reviews in regard to the accommodation...

I didn't read any reviews in regard to the accommodation really because I like to go somewhere without any preconceptions. To be honest I don't tend to write reviews either for the same reason On this occasion however I feel its is justified to say just a few things Firstly Christine your host is so charming and the love she has for the property and her desire for you to enjoy your stay really comes through The building is full of history and the room is of a good size and the bed very comfortable with a lovely view of the adjacent woodlands Though the building is historicaly old the bathroom facilities are up to date and are private and again a good size In the morning you are greeted by Christine who provides a breakfast and the opportunity to sample her home made jams I thoroughly recommended you stay here if your lucky enough to get a booking and you will not be disappointed

We passed through the village without stopping, but it seems to be a nice village. We didn't eat in Montauban de Picardie, but very close by you have Albert: a small town with all the shops!

It was a very pleasant place to stay.

It was a very pleasant place to stay. It's an authentic former station where the owner has made every effort to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. It's situated in a beautiful forest (Bernafay Wood) with a rich history (WW1).

The only advantage of this accommodation is its lack of...

The only advantage of this accommodation is its lack of competition. There's little else to be found in this area. But the owner urgently needs to focus on a more extensive breakfast, upgrade the bathroom, and, ABOVE all, provide fresh towels daily. And curtains for the windows.

Beautiful little town, but we were exhibitors at the Little...

Beautiful little town, but we were exhibitors at the Little Train of the Upper Somme in Froissy Cappy Dompierre. The site is magnificent nonetheless, and there are many beautiful things to see, both historically, with the First World War, and scenically; the Somme is a very beautiful region, hilly and green!

A beautiful region with, like everywhere in France, plenty to discover. The downside, of course, is the weather (I was there in April), cold and rainy this year, with a wind that could knock you off your feet.
