Great place, comfortable, and we'll equipped. Private with sole use of the pool. The host was lovely and helpful. Town was small but had everything you needed, plus more. There are plenty of places to eat. Locals were all very friendly. Supermarkets and places to visit all within a short distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our break and would love to go back.

The MANOIR DU VAU D'ARZ isn't just an accommodation, but a HOME where you're welcome to be a guest—and should definitely be one! The entire property is so tastefully designed! Every corner, every room, simply everything shows how much heart and soul has been invested here. Aside from the tranquility, the wonderful beds, and the amazing breakfast in the garden, the warmth of the hosts Sophie and Dominique deserves special mention. It was so much fun chatting with them. They are very accommodating, helpful with reservations, and you can trust every one of their tips blindly. I don't think we've ever felt as welcome in an "accommodation" as we did here! We were even able to speak a little German with Sophie (GENAU!), and she's also fluent in English. What can I say: if it weren't so far away, I'd be back next weekend.! Beautiful village - well worth a visit.

Beautiful village - well worth a visit. It is very busy in the summer - lots of paying parking - currently 5 euros so not expensive. It's on a hill so expect gradients! Good pizza restaurant - plus several (generally expensive) others.

Lives up to the 'beautiful town' name.

Lives up to the 'beautiful town' name. We only stayed one night and it was lovely. The hotel (Tour du Lion) was excellent, we ate at the Restaurant Maison Cachée which was also very good, and wandered down the main street in the evening. The next morning we went up to the 'old village' and through the chateaux grounds. A gorgeous village, highly recommended.

Rochefort-en-Terre immerses us in the heart of the Middle Ages. This town, with its castle and narrow streets, is absolutely charming, and the surrounding countryside is extraordinary. Special mention goes to the Naia Museum within the castle walls, which completely captivated us—a must-see... and the trees, always the trees, magnificent.

Very pretty, picturesque, lovely shops (especially the candle shop), very good mulled wine and kouign-amann, excellent pastries (L'Art Gourmand), good restaurants (Les Ardoisières). The people are warm and welcoming, although a little overwhelmed by the number of visitors.

Besides the village, which is very interesting and pleasant to visit, there are some gems: excellent restaurants including one by a very great chef, an exceptional tea room and a very erudite and committed bookstore located at the western entrance of the village where you can have a drink on the heights of the hill.

A very pretty village full of character, best explored on foot. There's parking at the village entrance, lovely little artisan shops, a beautiful small castle, and a shady park. We had lunch at Café Breton in the small outdoor courtyard; it was wonderful. The galettes are delicious and the crêpes are divine.

Our room was huge with a good-sized bed, the building is old and full of character, and the wooden beams in our room were a real feature. We were in the Marie Antoinette room. The inclusive breakfast was excellent, a very high-quality continental breakfast. The hotel also has a Creperie which served very good meals.

Vingt Vieux Bourg was excellent value for money, good breakfast. Excellent for overnight stopover on driving tour through France and a bonus of a very short walk to visit Rochefort-en-terre. Rachel was extremely helpful with our parking as that was a priority for us.

The location was perfect, in the centre of gorgeous Rochefort-en-Terre but away from the noise of the main streets. We left our car in the 'payant' car park which cost 6,50 Euros for the period from about 13.00 hours on the Monday to 11.30 hours the next day.
