I am French so I was happy to stay in France while visiting Basel. Because of the poor experience we had in the apartment, we moved to another one in Switzerland. We found a very charming village with beautiful architecture and nature around. From the moment we checked in, Mary, at reception, greeted us with her friendly professional and exceptional hospitality. We were early, but Mary found immediate accommodations for us which was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Mary even escorted us to our room. A first for me. Breakfast, included in stay, was delightful too. We will of course be recommending booking for all of our family & friends, and anyone else who may travel to Basil, Switzerland. The reception and check-in were OK.
The reception and check-in were OK. However, upon arriving at the 2nd-floor corridor, the strong smell of air fresheners or cleaning products was quite unpleasant. Entering the room, the smell was again unpleasant, reminiscent of an old and unclean carpet. Cleanliness is definitely not their strongest aspect; the floor was dirty and covered with a cheap, smelly carpet. Additionally, the room in general, and the toilet area in particular, were worn out and poorly maintained. I stayed in a room with two single beds. One mattress was saggy and uncomfortable, so I switched to the second bed, which was better. The location is perfect if you want to visit Basel. The staff at the front desk were nice and helpful, and the breakfast was good. There is also a nice supermarket and bakery just across the road.Guest review byNunoSwitzerland - 8.0

We reached the property at night and received a call from the host prior, who was very friendly. Once we reached the property, we weren't able to locate the exact apartment nor find the right parking lot. Very much ‘budget’. No air conditioning at night (started up in morning). Bed hard as a rock. WiFi not connecting to internet. Basic TV channels with no foreign language service. No tea/coffee making facilities. Was a Plus that windows opened on a hot night. Staff courteous, some with English. No where near airport. Did offer free pickup one way only. Took an age to arrive. The town itself is very small, but we found everything we needed, including a Carrefour where we bought wine and food. The apartment was well equipped: the kitchen had everything we needed (plates, bottle opener, etc.), and there was even an umbrella provided. The staff was nice. It is a bus that goes from the Saint Louis train station right in front of the hotel. Also, there is a bus that goes to Basel. It was great. We love everything.
