The abbey and its land was redolent of the most awesome history and creativity. It existed from 625 to 1790. Thus, from the Charlemagne era to the French Revolution. Where do I start?! The people who ran it were excellent, the room was to an exceptionally high standard and fully serviced every day. It had soaps, shampoo and shower gel, as well as bathing robes and slippers. The breakfast was one of the best continental breakfasts that I have experienced.
