The location - easy to find and reach from the A83 autoroute (10 minutes) in a peaceful historic village with a 1,000 years old abbey across the road. The nearby park and woodland were ideal places for walking our dog after a long car journey. The people/owners and welcome - very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our dog was made extremely welcome. The bedroom and bathroom - exceptionally clean and comfortable. Beautifully decorated and equipped in a modern style. The food - delicious dinner from a varied, fairly -priced menu. Personally served breakfast. The parking - free in the public car park adjacent to the hotel. Perfect for an overnight stopover when travelling south or north on the A83, or for a longer stay if wanting to explore the area. We would definitely stay again, and unequivocally recommend.

Such an amazing experience to stay in La Belle Epoque! The house is very beautifully decorated, the room was great and very comfortable with very nice views. Very nice breakfast, not to talk about the amazing dinner they cooked for us! Paul and François were so warm and helpful, it made us feel like being at our home away from home. Clean and tranquil location, well placed for our cycling trip to La Rochelle, safe storage for our bikes and an excellent breakfast. There was only a takeaway pizza shop in the village for dinner (& it was a Sunday night) but we were able to eat the pizzas with a bottle of wine bought from the same shop in the delightful sheltered space outside the Venise Verte and use the provided cutlery and glasses from the little shared kitchen

We absolutely loved this property and the owners were so incredibly welcoming. My mother and I were cycling around France and so lucky to have found this place. The shops were shut the following morning due to a bank holiday and the owners mum was so generous, gave us a baguette, butter, her homemade jam and pate, which were delicious. As a family they built the accommodation and it’s very clean and comfortable. We felt instantly at home and very relaxed after a long days cycling. What a great experience…thank you
