FAQs about hotels in Strasbourg

Crossroads of European Culture

Situated on the banks of the River Rhine, Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region of France. The medieval city centre, Grande Île, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and houses the glorious sandstone Strasbourg Cathedral and picturesque timber-framed buildings.

The Cathedral of Our Lady is the tallest medieval building in Europe and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture. It features a remarkable façade, one of the largest astronomical clocks in the world, stunning stained glass windows, and a terrace with panoramic city views.

Enjoy a pleasant walk in the medieval streets of the old town, or visit the charming Petite-France district. Here are some of the range of Strasbourg restaurants serving Alsatian specialities like beef and pork stew with potatoes and carrots, accompanied by local beer and regional white wine.

At the crossroads of European culture, cosmopolitan Strasbourg is home to numerous international organisations including the European Parliament, as well as one of the oldest European universities.

Strasbourg International Airport is easily reached from other international airports, so book your hotel, apartment or bed and breakfast through Booking.com and experience an unforgettable stay.

Strasbourg Airport is just a 12 minute train ride from the central station. Rich in history, Strasbourg/Alsace at times part of France, and then Germany, today France. Strasbourg lies at the heart of Europe and is home to the EU with the European Parliament and other major European institutions. Attractive old quarter - Petite France. The famous Alsace wine route covers both France and Germany, just across the Rhine. Plenty to do and see and a friendly city, too.

A beautiful city with amazing, centuries-old buildings and beautiful waterways. So many narrow streets to wander down and discover. The people are friendly and it felt very safe. I loved the mix of languages there, the walkability (and bike-ability). It also has an abundance of bookstores, as well as an outdoor market in Gutenberg Place that sells classic literature from some of the best authors. I did find some of the traditional food a bit on the heavy side, and it wasn't my usual diet. But I found a wonderful place called Tzatzi (1 Rue Sainte-Barbe), which was a modern (and delicious) take on Mediterranean/Mezze food, and it was also very affordable. I highly recommend it.

Loved Petite France and Colmar.

Loved Petite France and Colmar. The cathedral in Strasbourg was spectacular. Saw the illumination show there. Worth the money. Saw many homeless people living on the street and some begging for money. That was very sad to see all around the Kleber Square streets. I would recommend a few days in Strasbourgh. No problem with transportation. We walked everywhere and road the train to Colmar.

While it was rainy when we were is Strasbourg, we enjoyed walking around the historic centre which is compact and easily walkable for someone in their 80s as are my wife and I. We particularly liked place Kleber, around the corner from our hotel and the area around the cathedral.

Strasbourg is a fascinating place to visit and very easy to walk around. There are plenty of things to do and great places to eat. The cathedral is simply splendid and just across the square is the Palais Rohan- home to the bishops and kings who visited over a number of centuries- it was very quiet when we visited which made it even more special - with so few people we could actually imagine the history of the place centuries ago. The Batobus is inexpensive and takes you on a wonderful trip along the river past the European Parliament with an English commentary along the way- thoroughly enjoyable and we learned a lot about Strasbourg and its fascinating history!

It's a wonderful city with the mixture of German and French, old and new. So much to see - museums, gardens, European Parliament, cathedral, all within easy reach using the trams. My family is from Alsace so for me I was returning home to re-discover my ancestry. Of course more visits will be happening. Thank you dear Strasbourg!

The hotel is very close to the cathedral, so I was happy to take advantage of the benefits of being in the centre of town. I was cycling along the Rhine and having a rest day in Strasbourg, which was lovely, and the hotel was also close to a launderette so I could get some of my clothes clean - much appreciated! The atmosphere in the breakfast room was particularly good, too.

The hotel is located in Petit France which is perfect for staying in Strasbourg. With it being our Wedding Anniversary, the hotel left us a very kind message and a bottle of bubbly in our room on our arrival. The bedroom had fantastic A/C. And the bed was SUPER comfortable. When in Strasbourg, we will definitely return to this hotel.

Nice hotel in Strasbourg in case you are on budget or traveling by car. It’s 10-15 min from city centre by tram depending on what’s your desired location. Parking was for free which is a huge plus.
