The location was serene and the castle and grounds were absolutely beautiful. The owner and staff were lovely and we added night because our tween boys liked this place so much! We hope to come back again for a longer visit!

We enjoyed this bed and breakfast very much! The apartment is spacious and very well designed both from a practical and an estetical point of view.....we are impressed! The hotel was a very rural location which was what we wanted, there is not much in the village itself which was a shame. The room we had was in the eaves and was very nice, all the facilities we required were there. The breakfast was excellent.

From the street it’s an elegant 18th century limestone and slate roofed house typical of the region. The ground floor is backed by troglodyte caves, one of which is a dining room and one a utility room, where the lovely host Corrine very kindly washed and tumble dried our clothes as we are cycling. French breakfast is getting really samey after over 2 weeks here, always a croissant, bread jam and butter washed down with a coffee or two. Corrine is an excellent cook, and was making cherry jam when we arrived. Breakfast was more like a magical dream birthday party spread, and set in cave. As I recall, baked slices of brioche topped with apricot jam and flaked almonds. A baked egg custard with fresh cherries. Eggs cooked in ramekins with a little cream, butter and salt and pepper. Yogurt topped with strawberry coullis and fresh strawberries. Little open sandwiches of smoked salmon, cream cheese and radish. Baked tapioca with fresh ginger and made with almond milk with a mango and passion fruit topping. Vanilla and chocolate swirled sponge cake. lemon meringue pie. Fresh pineapple, Charentes melon, steamed plums and cooked cherries. Oh and bread cheese, jam, fruit juice and coffee of course, it’s still France. Our room was comfortable and in keeping with the properties elegant presentation, with oak beams, a large bed and an on suite with large shower.
