I had a lovely stay at the hotel and will definitely choose it again in the future. It has been beautifully renovated in the new annex part (see photos)/breakfast area and the main pub. The rooms are in the old building but still well-presented, clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast!

I was encouraged by the previous reviews, which consistently hit the top. However, I was mindful that reviews can rely on how people are feeling on the day. Debbie could not have been more welcoming, the room was immaculate, with handy fridge and microwave- all crockery and utensils supplied. The King BED was divine!! Best bed on any holiday we’ve had. Seriously. Full cooked Breakfast was to order and we felt very nurtured and looked after. It was a lovely experience, thank you Deborah x

The cottage is about a mile from Abermule (we drove there,...

The cottage is about a mile from Abermule (we drove there, but make sure you ask where the best place to park is as it isn't immediately obvious; you would need to walk down roads to get there on foot). There is a pub in the village (however not open Mon or Tues and only after 4pm the rest of the week, as far as I could tell) but no other shops. The nearest places for provisions or eating venues would be Montgomery in one direction and Newtown in the other. We very much enjoyed the walks in Abermule, along the Severn Way and by the Montgomery canal. We also went to Dolforwyn castle, which was an impressive ruin if a steep climb up to it! We just day tripped locally but Abermule would be a central point for exploring much further into Wales.
