Aldbourne is a quintessential English village with pretty cottages, a church, a green and a pond. There's shops, tea rooms and pubs. Absolutely beautiful and friendly too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Crown, which had excellent food, entertainment and comfortable beds. It has been the set for an episode of Dr Who and is where the real life Band of Brothers were billited during WW2.Guest review byLouiseUnited Kingdom

Rooms named after the company soldiers. Great food and beer and a top quality breakfast. Undergoing an update at present so few teething problems but would stay here in a heartbeat again. Comfortable room and very large. We had Major Dick Winters room. Aldbourne was also used in a Dr Who in the 70's . Quaint, historical building with loads of character, welcoming staff and great pub dinner. Breakfast was included & very good - just the right amount & just what we were after - traditional full English! The village of Aldbourne is beautifully maintained and picturesque.
