Great location for visiting many castles and beautiful gardens. Cragside is a must see location. Also Ford and Etal, especially the heavy horses. Bamburgh is very picturesque with a very peaceful church and amazing castle which is run very well and is great to visit, amazing views and fantastic sand dunes. Walled garden and cafe in the middle of Bamburgh is a lovely place to spend time with the Grace Darling museum next door there are also lovely small independent shops . All perfect for a needed break away. Thank you Bamburgh.

Bamburgh is a gem of a village that hasn't been spoilt by too much tourism. The setting of the village in the shadow of the castle is wonderful and there are a good selection of places to stay and eat. There are lovely walks along the beach and Holy Island is close by with Lindisfarne.

Bamburgh is a picturesque small village with the castle...

Bamburgh is a picturesque small village with the castle dominating the skyline. We stayed two nights in a local hotel. There are a good selection of pubs and restaurants. We ate in the Middle inn which had a wide selection on its menu was reasonably priced and the speed of service was first rate. The main reason for our visit was the castle which was exceptional - great views great history and a very interesting museum. Bamburgh also good as a base for the area. We went on a boat trip to the Farne islands and Lindisfarne from Seahouses which is a short distance from Bamburgh. Lindisfarne island is bigger than you think so allow more time to visit. Also would recommend you prebook wherever possible - it saves a lot of time on the day

A very quaint, interesting and lovely town.

A very quaint, interesting and lovely town. The castle is magnificent and fascinating to visit. The church with its crypt and Grace Darling memorial are worth visiting as is the Grace Darling museum. The walled garden has a lovely dog friendly cafe and a great play area for children. Several eating places on the main street and even croquet matches below the castle. We loved Bamburgh.

Bamburgh is a wonderful village from which to see the sites...

Bamburgh is a wonderful village from which to see the sites of the Northumberland coast. There are miles of sandy beaches to roam and the sea is very inviting. The castle soars over the village still keeping it safe and it is well worth a visit. Just a few miles north is Lindisfarne and Holy Island. A nice village and great views from the castle ruins. Be aware of the tides though! Just a few miles south is Seahouses, a long established fishing village. The fish and chips are excellent and from here you can get boat trips out to the Farne Islands. Beadnell and Alnick are also within easy reach.Again, well worth testing your sea legs. Golf fan? Well you've got he choice of 2. Bamburgh and Seahouses. A warning if you do need to use busses. There are some but not that frequent so plan carefully. All in all, a wonderful place to holiday.

An excellent establishment in a lovely quiet village, run by friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast was outstanding (cooked options plus a self-service buffet) as was the dinner menu. I liked that the room had tea/coffee making facilities and USB charging sockets. On site parking is limited, but parking on the street was no problem. The hotel is only a few mins walk from Bamburgh Castle.

We loved everything about cowslip, it had everything you could possibly need for a weeks holiday. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of seating too. As for the location we couldn’t have asked for better close enough to Bamburgh that you could see the castle , but in a quiet area that allowed us to enjoy the amazing evening skies.

Warm welcome at the Victoria hotel. Clean and tidy room, not super modern but comfortable bed with clean bathroom. Had a great stay here exploring Bamburgh and its location is brilliant. The bar downstairs is great too and the breakfast was exceptional.
