The setting and location were beautiful. We stayed in the cottage that was once the waiting room at the station. Beautifully decorated. Daryl was a warm welcoming host who had a loaf of fresh local bread and butter waiting for us in the kitchen. The cottage was clean, well equipped and very quiet at night. We absolutely loved this place!

olde world charm mixed with modern facilities but it was the people, both staff and customers, that made our stay memorable. Host Kerry demonstrated that nothing was too much trouble. Customers Joe, Davy and Graham provided interesting, and often hilarious, craic. A great range of beers in the bar and a sumptuous breakfast rounded off a great stay.

The apartment was immaculate and we couldn’t fault a thing; very well maintained with everything you need for a quality stay and brand new. Rachel our host couldn’t have been more helpful, what a lovely lady who went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The bakery has delicious food and beverages and is an added bonus to the stay. Great location for getting to places I wanted to go to like Consett. Plus I was able to meet up with some relatives downstairs in the bistro for coffee & breakfast the first morning of my stay which was great.
