FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular stag and hen do destination, Blackpool offers accommodation ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

Blackpool has vastly improved since my last visit, the improvement is incredible. It is a very expensive trip to have, but worth the effort when your family enjoyed themselves as mine did. So work out what you want to do and go and enjoy it.

We went to see the illuminations and were very disappointed, no decorated trams apparently they were not working due to maintenance issues , bit of a lame excuse. The regular trams were severely overcrowded and on one evening just stopped running altogether stranding us down by the pleasure beach at the wrong end of town. As for the information displays, well they don't exist this is 2025 where are the real time displays for the bus and tram stops, come on Blackpool Transport WAKE UP you can and should do a lot better. We didn't bother with the pleasure beach as it would have cost over £300 to get 4 non riding adults , 2 riding adults and 4 nickelodeon passes for the youngsters , the zoo was worth a visit but still expensive over £200 for tickets (2 family tickets and 2 concession) A pre booked family ticket at the swim centre was also £100 To be honest we left the town after three days feeling we had been mugged on every street corner , Back to an all inclusive in Spain next year

We packed in a lot of attractions in our 3 day stay with a saver ticket. I was impressed with the trams and bought 2 day tickets for our party which included unlimited travel on the trams and buses. 2 of out party travelled to Fleetwood and found a very interesting museum.

Blackpool never changes from year to year so its easy to know what to see and do and where to go. The trams and buses run regularly but at the height of the season they are usually packed and a lot of people end up standing, not good if you are elderly or pregnant or unwell. There are daily bus tickets for sale which are valid for 24 hours from time of purchase and can be used for buses and trams. There is lots to do in the town, both in the day time and in the evenings but just a short bus ride away is Clevellys and Lytham St Anns. These places are quieter than the hustle and bustle of Blackpool but offer much for you to do. There is Stanley Park which I think is hugely under rated as it is great for a lovely walk and a bit of quiet time. Blackpool offers something for everyone of any age and it will keep on doing so for years to come.

Location was spot on and where we wanted to be the hosts were amazing and very friendly and so welcoming the room was amazing bed comfy and room was quality and the bar in hotel was quite cheap for Blackpool you were 60 second walk from hotel to seafront about 2 minute walk from south pier and about 5 mins walk from pleasure beach and 30 secs walk from south pier tram stop where you can get the tram to town or through the illuminations trams were every 15 minutes quality couldn't beat it

This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms were cozy but had everything we needed and everything was spotlessly clean. Location is great, on the North Shore and away from the noise but with Blackpool’s main attractions easily accessible. The breakfast was fantastic and they were so accommodating. The best part of this hotel is the family who run it - they are so lovely, nothing is too much trouble and they immediately make you feel welcome. This is a Blackpool gem!

Fabulous stay. Smart looking hotel & room. The room was a small double at the back. Hotel room had lovely lighting, comfy bed, tea & coffee. Also a smart TV & WiFi., Smart bathroom with lovely shower. Also fan, iron & hair dryer provided. Room was clean & nicely presented. Right in the middle of Blackpool seafront. Also able to park up cycle in front near entrance. Bar looked lovely. Mixed hotel reviews. However, I'd have no hesitation booking again.

Excellent central location with parking very close by. Cannot fault the hotel stay-or improve it in any way. So clean, orderly, well equipped and comfortable. Staff were brilliant and room was spacious. Many breakfast options in close proximity ,but very reasonable option for room service upon request . Highly recommended -it will be our absolute first choice for our next stay in Blackpool .

The landlady was lovely, the hotel was amazing, there were massive rooms, comfy beds very clean! We also had a sea view room! we have stopped at a few hotels as we are regular visitors to blackpool, but this topped them all. It was the best we have stayed at in the 10 years we as a family have been visiting! Book, you will not be disappointed it was exceptional. Thank you!
