The Highland getaway was amazing..very much 5 star.. had things we didn't think we needed! The attention to detail was above and beyond. Even dressing gowns and slippers. Beds were super comfy. Shower was powerfully and hot. And cooking facility was spot on. The kids loved the freedom of the park with forest walks across the road. And steam train within 5 mins walk.. no WiFi was not a problem for us. But there was no connection.

I stayed at the Macdonald Hotel and was very pleased with my experience 🌟. First of all, I want to highlight the cleanliness — both the rooms and common areas are always well kept. The atmosphere of the hotel is very cozy, which makes the stay especially comfortable. I would also like to thank all the staff — they are always friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything.     Boat of Garten is a small village which has some good features and services, including a pub, a village store, pizza shop, art gallery and historic railway station. It is well located in relation to forest walks and other outdoor activities. For any significant shopping you needs to travel nearby Aviemore, 4.5 miles away. We preferred the peace and quiet of Boat of Garten for our stay in the area.

    We stayed at the caravan on a self catering basis The caravan was very well equipped with all the necessary items needed for a short stay break The site was nice and quiet and situated within easy reach of the towns amenities and lovely rural walks Our break at Boat of Garten was only a few days long so we did not get much time to explore more of thd beautiful countryside

    Lovely little village, idyllic scenery.

    Lovely little village, idyllic scenery. Great location for nearby attractions and not as busy and touristy as nearby Aviemore. Next time I visit I will definitely consider again and stay a little longer to explore.

    Boat of Garten is just a small village in the Scottish Highlands there is a nice little restaurant 50yds away which serves excellent meals and a carry out fresh made Pizza facility, there is also a nice hotel about 400m away which serves excellent meals, well situated for the Osprey viewing observatory, close to Landmark adventure park, and not far from Aviemore highland resort.

    Owners where welcoming friendly the room was big and big bathroom with shower they supplied towels hair conditioner shampoo body wash a hair dryer there was coffee tea hot chocolate biscuits supplied by was adequate bedding n linen the breakfast was nice would go back if was in area

    The location and home itself were absolutely wonderful and just what we needed for our particular stay. To elaborate, the Boat of Garten is a beautiful and scenic place. I would 100% consider returning, I really enjoyed myself. If you're considering a place to meet with all your fiends around Scotland to play board games and the like, this is a great place for it. The large table was perfect for our needs in that regard.

    Lovely atmosphere, really friendly welcome and lots of tips for our onward journey. Email received in advance with restaurant tips which we used to book Andersons seafood platter and had a great evening. Tea coffee and fridge and delicious banana cake on arrival! Breakfast great, lots of lovely fresh fruit, cooked breakfast etc.

    Difficult to find this size of property for our group of 8 lady golfers with plenty generously sized twin rooms. Not far out from Boat of Garten and 300yds from main road to go north or south to Aviemore or Grantown. Loved it. We hope to book again for next year.

    Property was very easy to find, shop just across the road, not a lot near by it walking wise but aviemore is a 10 minute drive away. Veiw from room was amazing. Staff were very accommodating. Dog friendly so seen lots of friendly dogs. Bed was comfy and big.
