FAQs about hotels in Brighton & Hove

Colourful by Day and Night

Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.

Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.

A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.

Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

I flew over from my home in Ireland to Gatwick was for the Bob Dylan concert in Brighton and back next day, so had no time to do very much sightseeing this time, but I know Brighton well, It's a great place to visit, with many quirky and interesting shops around the Lanes area, and some very nice pubs and cafes.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk down the hill from the station and very close to a street full of restaurants on one side and the high street containing all the amenities you need (pharmacy, shops, etc.) to the other. The hotel itself was quiet and the room comfortable with a small balcony that gave a partial view of the sea. The room had all the usual needed things (kettle, hair dryer, etc.) and one I didn't expect (a hot water bottle). The breakfast bar included fruit & yogurt, juice, cereals, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, some veg, tea, coffee, and toast with a variety of spreads. It was a very comfortable place to stay for a few days over a convention weekend.

A place to be yourself and explore, relax and have fun. SO many good places to eat and drink, the great beach and many galleries and shops to mooch around. If only more of the UK was like Brighton & Hove!

The grandchildren loved the entertainment on the pier.

The grandchildren loved the entertainment on the pier. My daughter and I visited Brighton Pavilion, which is magnificent. We all loved the Lanes, an interesting area full of individual shops and restaurants. Brighton has a good, lively atmosphere. Would recommend!

Always a great place to visit.

Always a great place to visit. The Lanes are brilliant with so many varied and independent shops and eateries. Can be pricey. People are very friendly. Parking is expensive, so consider public transport.

Take the Hop on Hop Off bus initially to see everything then stop wherever you like. It was a great way to see things we might have missed and we learned a fair bit of history as well. Brighton is a delightful, quirky city that embraces everyone’s uniqueness and creativity. We particularly enjoyed the ‘devil-may-care’ attitude to fashion. Wonderful

The hotel is fresh and new. The location is perfect. It’s a short walk to the seafront. Near restaurants and bars. Ideal for a short break in Brighton by train. We slept really well - we couldn’t hear any noise at all from other rooms nor any noise from outside (the hotel is on a quiet street). The room was exceptionally clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Online check-in and check-out was convenient. We did Hove Promenade parkrun which is close by.

Really enjoyed my 2 night stay. A beautiful hotel on the seafront with everything you need. All staff very friendly and helpful. The view of Brighton beach and seafront from my room was amazing. The location is also ideal and within easy walking distance of the pier, city centre and marina.

the hotel was very near to places that I wanted to visit as this visit is a re-visit of 40+ years ago when I lived in Brighton and worked in Uncle Sam's and used to hang out at the beach, the pier, Western Road, the Lanes and surrounding areas eg Shoreham by Sea
