Spacious room, nice facilities, friendly staff. We walked to Temple Meads station in under 10 minutes, and also found it straightforward to walk from here over to Castle Park, the Harbourside Walk, and up the cycleway to visit friends in Easton. There's a good cafe and a Sainsbury's Local within two blocks from the hotel, too.

Fabulous hotel. The room was big, the staff were friendly and the location was perfect. It is right in the city centre but you can't hear any street noise from the room. We only stayed one night but we'll be back again for a longer visit. We've already recommended Hotel du Vin Bristol to friends.

FAQs about hotels in Bristol

From Brunel to Banksy!

Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol boasts Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the River Avon. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbour where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.

Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I-listed Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centres at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.

As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.

Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artists Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodation, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.

This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath railway line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.

We’d been to Bristol several times before and had come down...

We’d been to Bristol several times before and had come down for a gig at the Trinity Centre, which was a great venue. We went to Bristol Museum and Gallery which has a lovely eclectic mix of exhibits- paintings covering a wide range of styles, Egyptians, Natural History and so much more. I’d highly recommend the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2025 exhibition that’s currently being held there. We also went to the Watershed which is an excellent two screen independent cinema down near the dock. Bristol is stuffed full of fantastic pubs, places to eat and shops. There really is something for all ages and tastes. The only thing that’s worth considering is that many of the streets are quite hilly. I’m fit and have good mobility but it might be tiring walking around if these things are an issue for you.

Bristol is a busy city, all going on, universities, theatres, restaurants, bars, clubs etc. Easy access from M5, Clifton is of particular interest to me for it's village feel! These days could not last as long as I would like, age thing. Busy city and only criticism, council with all their controls and regulations appear to want to make it as hard as possible to go there.

We had four nights in Bristol and this was just right for exploring the city. It is easy to walk around with plenty of shops and interesting things to look at. We are a family of four and visited Bristol Aquarium, Bristol Zoo and We the Curious Science Museum. We the Curious needs booking in advance. Bristol is a lovely city to explore and we would not hesitate to go back for another short break. The bus service is very easy to use with children travelling for free.

We spent most of our time in and around Clifton with a day...

We spent most of our time in and around Clifton with a day trip out to Bath and an Air Raid Shelter tour one afternoon in the city centre. We also loved the harbour area and the accessibility to be able to walk all around it, discovering some "hidden gems" including some Banksy wall art and the SS Great Britain. Being cat lovers, we paid a visit to the Bag of Nail pub to see the resident "bar" kitties asleep atop the counters. A Hard Hat tour of the Clifton Suspension bridge was a highlight as was the bridge itself and a walk through the surrounding park land of Clifton Down.

Lots of lovely architecture. Great views of the bridge from the observatory. Contrasting areas. Loved Easton with its funky Gloucester Road etc. Great places to eat and have coffee. Try the Gardens of Easton and The Journey (Tibetan) and the Bristolian (for brunch).
