Coming from the North we found the countryside really lush with stunning views. Local villages such as Turville are well worth a visit, but there were several attractive places with really good pubs where you could get a great selection of food and drink. It was equally easy to get onto major roads for visiting other towns and cities with ease and speed. Cannot recommend The Apple Orchard in West Wycombe enough though. If you need to buy something nice for a friend or relative, or you just want to spoil yourself, this is a fantastic place to visit. It made our weekend. We didn't venture into High Wycombe but there is the advantage of all that a large town can bring in very close proximity. You'd never know that though unless you climbed to the top of a hill to see it, which we did when visiting the Dashwood Mausoleum.

West Wycombe is a great base for walking in the surrounding countryside, as well as being within easy reach of the surrounding towns. I used to live locally so I chose this particular hotel because I love the location, whilst wanting to be reasonably close to High Wycombe train station.
