Location is fantastic. Remote but not too far out. Cottage is lovely all the things you need for cooking and baking. Nice and cosy. We loved our stay here. Great walks from the cottage.

The Old Grammar has had a glow up and boy is it good. From the second we arrived Esther, Lauren and the team could not have been more helpful to us and our canine companion. Little touches like the freshly baked flapjacks and dogs treats for the pup go the extra mile and breakfast too is a cut above. We wished we had more time to enjoy the beautiful public rooms, terrace and garden but we loved it so much we have already booked our next stay. Fantastically located to enjoy clear views over the iconic racecourse the Old Grammar is an unbeatable base to enjoy the delights of Cartmel and the Lake District. Thanks very much to the OG team. We can’t wait to come back.

Room was very bright and spacious with very comfortable beds and beautiful views over the Estuary. The grounds of Netherwood Hotel were just breathtaking, we have spend a lot time just sitting in the garden having a drink and just admiring the views.

A fantastic pub in a great little village. Good home made food in a lovely atmosphere. We have stayed here a couple of times now and would have stayed there more often if we could have got a room but it always seems to be fully booked when we want to go. The management and staff are hands on and so friendly and helpful. The locals are amazing. You can't walk around the beach or village without everyone saying hello. I would love to live here. The rooms are always clean, the beds are comfy. There is plenty of tea & coffee in the rooms. There are several areas to sit and eat or just have a drink in the pub plus plenty of outside seating and tables. They have parking in front of the pub plus a carpark at the side. It's a great place to explore the surrounding areas or just to go walking locally. I love sitting down on the beach watching the sun set. Its so peaceful.

Great location to use as a base for exploring places like...

Great location to use as a base for exploring places like Cartmel, Grange-over-Sands, Windermere and other towns in The Lakes. Holker Hall & Gardens is well worth a visit and has a great cafe. Would have been nice if there was somewhere good to eat locally that you didn’t need to drive to.

The property was clean and very spacious inside. A peaceful village within easy distance of the Lakes. Perhaps the owner needs to address the outside paintwork of the property as first impressions count!
