Friendly little place.

Friendly little place. We had the best sandwiches ever in the bakery in the high street. Home made cakes and fabulous breads and fruit loaf. Sat in and had a cuppa for lunch. Had the best fish and chips in the Kings arms around the corner. It was a Tuesday night and they were all booked up, no wonder!!! They slotted us in thankfully. Great little place, antique shops, chocolate shop/ gifts. Worth a day out there.

The town is small, able to walk across in twenty minutes.

The town is small, able to walk across in twenty minutes. The area is easily visited but not at all well known. As hilly as the Lake District, with ideal walking country in every direction, except that the hills are lower and nearer the town than is the case at (say) Keswick or Ambleside. And, of course much nearer the South or the Midlands. I've been visiting the area for many years.

If you are a walker, then Church Stretton is brilliant.

If you are a walker, then Church Stretton is brilliant. If you don't then there is still a lot of interesting things to do in the area. The town itself is very pleasant, with good modern Coop and plenty of places to eat and drink.

Church Stretton is a lovely town.

Church Stretton is a lovely town. Great access to the Long Mynd with so many different trails. You do need to be quite fit though. Excellent bus and train links if you want to travel further afield

C S is a very pleasant town still with much charm and has a rail station for the Heart of Wales line that is a must to travel on for its scenery. There is good parking nearby. The more energetic will enjoy the wonderful hill walks near by.

Church Stretton is a lovely place to base yourself for walking or touring in the area. Great places to eat with the best of them being the Ragleth Inn, Little Stretton just a mile from Church Stretton.

Magnolia cottage was incredibly welcoming, the hosts have ensured that you feel at home the instant you walk into the cottage. In fact I think you could probably move into the house with a suitcase - and all your needs would be met. There was a nice little welcome package of biscuits, beers and milk. All basic equipment, condiments and some breakfast cereals were available. Nice garden, comfortable beds etc., what's not to like. Although the cottage is not in the centre of Church Stretton, it's an easy < 10 minute walk into town.

We received a warm welcome and the lodge was very comfortable and well equipped. The hosts had thought of every detail, including things like ear plugs and sleep masks by the beds, some crisps and tea cakes and milk in the fridge upon our arrival, even reading glasses in both +1.0 and +2.0 in case we needed them! Everything was exceptionally clean and cosy and beautifully decorated and styled. The location is also great, being near to scenic walks and also only a 20 minute walk into Church Stretton.
