Coatbridge is a cute little town east of Glasgow that has everything you could need. It's easy to get to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, or anywhere else you need to go. There's a big retail park for groceries & shopping, a nice little town square, and everyone I met here was very friendly! It's very easy to get around here. There are a few major roundabouts that become easy to remember once you've passed through a few times. Parking is a little sparse sometimes, but that's to be expected right in town. I was running a workshop on orchards in Hope Church using the nearby Coatbridge Community Orchard. Cameron from the church was really helpful and bent over backwards to find the resources we needed. I would imagine the church is very friendly to newcomers. The community orchard over in West End park used to be a bowling green (now they only have 1!) and is made up of about 100 apples, 8 pears, 8 plums and 8 cherries. The young orchard is open access and pleasant to stroll through. There are some raised beds, one of which has an interesting oat experiment going on. There are about 5 veteran cherry trees just outside the orchard. I noticed there were a couple of children's play areas in the park and it had a lovely vibe.Guest review byJo - 6.0
