Just ask more questions before using their other facilities so you have all information in hand. Reception should share more information on arrival. They have a good pool for people who love swimming and sauna. I enjoyed it very much.

I do not know much of this place outside of the Scare City Experience and frankly that is my best, only, and primary highlight. One train from Manchester, one bus into a semi-abandoned hedgerow, a small walk up past a lake that looks like it was taken straight from the set of Friday the 13th and one very lovely hotel stay an even shorter walk away from the attraction. Lovely staff, great laughs, and who doesn't love getting chased by zombies, scarecrows, cannibals and clowns at least once a year?

The restaurant and bar were great with friendly staff, a good choice of food in a lovely setting, the food was delicious. The room was spacious however our room 110 was overlooking the rear of the building the view was of cables and fans which could be heard through out the night. On checking my payment details I discovered they charged me twice, when I spoke to the receptionist she apologised and said she would credit my payment back, she wasn’t aware I had made the payment earlier in the day before my arrival following a telephone call from a different hotel receptionist, I couldn’t understand why this didn’t show up on their computer when I checked in? It appears there’s a lack of communication between staff members. Looks fabulous on entry but rooms need updating. The setting by a lake would probably be great in the summer but this time of year the pathway around the ground was notoriously muddy and overgrown.
