Our visit was to see friends just outside the area.

Our visit was to see friends just outside the area. We did not get time to fully see Eckington. We will definitely be going back. We ate at The Devonshire Arms. The food was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the chorizo and muscles with garlic ciabatta and Oreo brownie.

Lovely clean room and evening meal with great service.

Lovely clean room and evening meal with great service. At dinner time. Breakfast took a long time to order and service was quite slow but it was a nice meal. Nice to have Illy coffee.. It was a hot day but the fan helped in the room. The bed sheet felt like flannelette type material which wasn't very comfortable to sleep on in the heat. On leaving I wasn't asked how our stay was and we felt the service was really inconsistent with evening meal staff excellent morning staff less so. It was a nice stay overall

We were house hunting in nearby Chesterfield so Eckington gave us some much needed respite with the weather being cold we took refuge in some of the excellent pubs in the area, we ate at The Bridge Inn Ford in the village of Ridgeway a Thwaites pub with excellent food & also at the Fox & Hounds which is local to the B&B and about a 10 minute walk.

The location is in the countryside but close enough to towns and cities. The place was very comfortable and the hostess was delightful. Breakfast was delicious and most definitely a place I would go back to. There is an awful lot to see in the area, do no shortage of things to do and everything seem easy to get to.

Room we stayed in was really nice and near the stairway to the car but we could hear every door that opened when guest went back to their rooms. Shower room was really big and plenty of room for your cosmetics etc. Bed really comfy. Lots of internet tv options. We had a fridge which was great and there were complimentary homemade biscuits which were lovely but they were really small and only two of them. Seemed a bit mean considering the price of the room. Four would have been better. Happy with everything else in the refreshment shelf. Breakfast was really good, nice choice, fruit and yoghurt - this could have had a little more fruit, again seemed a bit mean considering the price band
