Evershot is a small village with 2 hotels owned by Red Carnation. We stayed at the Acorn Inn, my colleagues stayed at Summer Lodge Country House Hotel, We dined at both properties - and both were excellent and quite different from each other - and used the bar facilities at the Acorn Inn to watch the Ryder Cup. It's probably a good location to drive to larger nearby towns and of course Stonehenge as Evershot itself is a very small picturesque village. There is a 6.5 mile ramble which we would have liked to do so would likely do that if we were to go back.

It is a lovely and very "English" village.

It is a lovely and very "English" village. Completely unspoilt. There isn't much in the way of facilities apart from the Acorn, a bakery and a small shop but it's ideal for a short stay in the heart of Dorset. It's great for a short walk to get a feel for the old buildings, all looking like they're right out of a Hardy novel. There is a lovely walk across the parkland belonging to the local stately home and estate, which takes you to the next village of Melbury Osmond, which is also unspoilt and very "Hardyesque". Evershot is also in a great location for exploring the wonderful towns villages and coast of West Dorset

Such a lovely location.

Such a lovely location. Couldn’t fault the staff and our accommodation. Very efficiently run and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast perfect. We had our evening meals there for the 3 days we stayed - excellent. The change of our room due to the fault with the shower was a bonus . Loved every minute

Evershot is a very picturesque village with Thomas Hardy connections. A good base for exploring South Dorset. The Acorn Inn is to be recommended. There is a village shop/post office but it is very sparsely stocked with basic goods. A substantial grocery shop entails either a car journey or an on-line delivery, The surrounding roads are very narrow with blind bends and must be driven with extreme caution.

Evershot is a beautiful jewel of an English country village, with golden stone-built cottages. Scenic country walks are available through the Melbury House Estate, including its spectacular deer park, farmland and lakeside views. Red Carnation Hotels operate both the premium Summer Lodge Hotel and also the historic Acorn Inn, both of which offer great food and a great welcome to guests, with hospitality which make the stay truly memorable. The Summer Lodge Hotel also benefits from a super spa and wellness centre which we very much enjoyed. The village also benefits from a local shop with giftware, a bakery and a charming church.

Pretty village with shop/post office, bakery and popular pub. A good location for walking and as a base for visiting the coast, stately homes and towns such as Dorchester, Bridport and Beaminster.

It’s a classic country house hotel. If you want a modern venue, then it’s not for you. It’s an old house, it’s quirky and full of character. Facilities very good, lovely garden. Furnishings, decor, bedding and towels of the highest quality. Lovely restaurant. Staff friendly and very helpful. Always went the extra mile. It was our second stay in 12 months.
