Sorry didn't visit Fareham.

Sorry didn't visit Fareham. Did visit Bishops Waltham: a quaint village with lovely high street full of boutiques, proper bakers, a greengrocer and coffee shops, cheap parking. Also has Bishops Place ruins to view!

A pleasant small town that seems to offer everything you need, it has plenty of shops and a number of pubs and eateries on the High Street. Frequent trains and buses to Portsmouth and Gosport, and very close anyway to the M27 for those driving.

We had an accessible room which had plenty of room for a wheelchair user. There was a small fridge, which kept our bottles of water cool, very welcome, because we were there in a heatwave. The bathroom was enormous, with a roll-in shower. In the restaurant the food was delicious, well cooked and presented.

Fareham town centre was a bit dead (though we visited on Good Friday, that might be abnormal). Good supermarket options close by. Location is good for getting out and away to Portsmouth / Southampton easily, plus very quick to nip down to the Solent for a nice walk.

Fareham is not a great place.

Fareham is not a great place. It's one of those town's with a tiny bit of history, but a lot of charity shops and a deprived town centre. Personally, I would not recommend anyone visiting Fareham, but a few miles either side is a different story; some beautiful places to see, both by the water and inland.

Great location, a short walk to Fareham train station, a small independent hotel with everything you need, very friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent value for money. Nice filter coffee in room. On a busy road but had a room at the back so no noise .Plenty of parking on site. Very nice conservatory dining room overlooking lovely gardens. Already booked in to stay again.

Well, all I can suggest is to stay at the Solent Hotel, not this place, it's like an IBIS. Low quality and tired despite looking new. The central hotel is fabulous. This place seems like its poor cousin, but alas, the price of the rooms isn't good value. IBIS or PremierInn is way better value
