The room is a little trailer very sweet interior and an awesome view with a little table outside where we had breakfast. All around the place are big trees and a lot of birds. Also there are wild flower areas and next to the trailer runs a little burn (creek) which murmered us into sweet dreams. The ladies at the desk were sweet as pie and helpful with all our questions. Thank you for having us over.

Royal Hotel evening meals were superb but there was a...

Royal Hotel evening meals were superb but there was a fantastic Indian restaurant and other takeaways nearby plus several cafes. Walking is probably the best way to get around as there are interesting things hiding in alleyways, the Museum is worth a visit as is Glamis Castle nearby. Excellent bus services to Dundee and Aberdeen (both ULEZ's cars need to be Euro6) one is expensive (Stagecoach!) I think! the other which unfortunately I can't remember the name of is very cheap. Worth checking online for entry tickets as we saved nearly £10 each on Glamis tour. Be careful parking as the wardens are red hot, Hotel parking best option. Odd one way system in places.

We lunched at The Drovers Inn which was fantastic. Forfar has a lot of nice places to eat and is not far from Glamis Castle which is a lovely day out. The only downside about Forfar is that it doesn't have a rail service but it does have a regular bus service.

We have been to Forfar lots of times. Quaint, pretty, plenty to do while visiting . Lots of unusual shops, plenty food shops, Lots of cafes, pubs and restaurants to choose from. Museums, local info available

Forfar is a great little market town, filled with plenty of...

Forfar is a great little market town, filled with plenty of character. Lots of cafes and restaurants, as well as coffee houses. The usual spread of big supermarkets and plenty of smaller shops. Forfar is handy for Arbroath, Brechin & Montrose. Aberdeen is a 45 min drive north on the dual carriageway. Well served with good rail and bus links, north and south.

Forfar is a great location for exploring the East coast of Scotland ...from vast beaches to castles and coastal towns something for everybody. With a little research there are plenty of pubs and restaurants which serve good quality local food

I love Forfar. The folk are so friendly.

I love Forfar. The folk are so friendly. Like most places, there’s been a lot of development in the area and a lot of new faces but everything is still within walking distance, supposing you’re fit for it. I love the West End bar where the staff and clientele make you and your four legged escort welcome. Alas, Frank’s is not what it once was. Lots of the multinationals in town now but the independent retailers are just holding their own. Shop local!

Cosy, excellent location. Friendly, welcoming staff who were happy to engage in casual but genuine chit chat. Wifi was very good, parking great. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room etc were superb. Same with the gym. We were able to check in early - even though we arrived early and without notice. Also able to use the facilities after check out at 11am which was a great bonus meaning we could use the hotel as a base on our check out day which meant we spent more time (and money) in the local area.

Airlie Hut was immaculately clean and thoughtfully put together. The surroundings are pretty and, most importantly for me, quiet. Staff were very kind and considerate. Location was easy to find and close enough to take a quick drive to the supermarket in Forfar to pick up shampoo and shower gel that I'd forgotten to pack!

We had a lovely stay. The lodge was very clean and tidy with everything we needed inside. Lovely quite site. Booked instead of a hotel and we weren't disappointed. It was very nice. Would definitely recommend.
