I think this is one may be of the best apartment of Scotland. First, the owner of the apartmant was very kind, and he gave us many small gifts. In the fridge there were orange juices and many delicius foods, for example chocolates, chips and more drinks. It was professonaly equipped and we had ipads and a big TV with extras. I also liked the big space what this beatiful apartman has and the bathroom: there was everything what you just can imagine.

The location was perfect for everything and training into Edinburgh. Lovely people and such a comfortable bed. The fellow who owns the place went out of his way twice to help. One involved taking my friend in the car to another village to pick up her bag . Many many thanks for the kindness !

Breakfast was excellent. But the real prize was the magnificent, fully lined tweed drapes in the room -- an easily overlooked touch, but such exquisite fabric in a simple, cozy little hotel room, and such a Scottish touch, too! At least one night dnner was Michelin star worthy, and all meals were excellent.

    This property had a lovely feel to it the moment you walked...

    This property had a lovely feel to it the moment you walked through the door.It was well planned and flowed easily making for a relaxing and sociable stay for our large group. details like the large and thoughtful welcome pack, bath robes and extra towels for the hot tub were much appreciated. Our stay was too short to fully enjoy all the potential of this wonderful property.and its surrounding area. A car is essential as you are slightly off the beaten track but it is an excellent spot from which to explore this beautiful area.

    Gala is a typical British small town with a varied high...

    Gala is a typical British small town with a varied high street comprising of healthy shops & empty properties. A good selection of eateries; the Stitchers cafe & Paolo's Italian cafe bistro were 2 aces we enjoyed on this visit. There are lots of good walking trails around Gala ranging fro. 2 to 26 miles in length. 2 major centrally located supermarket located near town centre. Good transport links to Edinburgh by train.

    Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. People were lovely. Mac Arts is a fabulous music venue. Untangled, the yarn shop, is fab and the Great Tapestry of Scotland is phenomenal. The Salmon Inn was a great place to stay and I have already booked to return.

    The scenery surrounding Galashiels is beautiful. There were plenty of options for eating places in the centre of the town, near to the bus and train station. St Peter's Scottish Episcopal Church is a friendly place to worship.

    We used to live here - this was a trip down memory lane with our daughters. Paulo's Italian restaurant is excellent. We visited the tapestry and did some hill walking (Eildon's, Southern Upland Way.

    Everything! A very comfortable upstairs flat with everything you could needed and more. Lovely host, clear instructions, quick to respond to queries. Location, to me, is perfect. Beautiful views from back of the flat. I was able to park opposite the flat or a few car spaces away, which was not a problem. About 10mins walk to nearby shops or 20mins walk/5mins drive to centre of town. Worth the walk to take in the town itself. Definitely recommend this flat and Galashiels, it's a beautiful town.

    This is one of the few options for accommodation in Galashiels but the owners don't take advantage from it to cut corners. I am not a big fan of this type of accommodations (B&Bs/Guest houses) but there is nothing wrong with this one, I cannot see how other "top notch" B&B's are better than this one. The location is perfect, Galashiels is a small town and the place is a nice town surrounded by beautiful environment. I can definitively recommend it.

    Thank you Dalvy for welcoming us into your home for our stay in Galashiels. The location of the property was perfect for our trip to the UCI event at Glentress, the accommodation very clean and well kept and Dalvy is a brilliant host, very welcoming, knowledgeable about the local area and very generous too. Would recommend.

    An excellent place to stay in the centre of Galashiels. The flat is in a very good location with a big Tesco close by and also a Greggs for a bargain breakfast! The flat was clean, quiet and comfortable.
