We wanted to visit a friend in Moniaive & Gretna Green had the closest accommodation we could find. We saw none of the town as we spent our time with Adam Armstrong Tours touring the gorgeous border country and learning about the Armstrong clan. It is known for being a place where under age English couples in centuries past could more easily get married by the blacksmiths. And indeed weddings were going on. Our B&B host mentioned that the border country is not well-enough promoted. We found the countryside sublime, our fave part of our 3 week trip to very different areas in Scotland.Guest review byArleneCanada - 10.0

The only thing that I was frustrated about was the signage...
The only thing that I was frustrated about was the signage for the location! My satnav directed me off to Gretna village via A75. The post code is obviously similar to properties there as the village is very close. (I had to ring reception for guidance). I attended for a wedding which was a lovely experience.
I attended for a wedding which was a lovely experience. Plenty of choice for overnight stays from hotels to B&B’s. There are restaurants to cafes to choose from for food. Plenty of parking. This claimed to be dog friendly but, although I clearly stated that I would have a dog with me, no mention of a charge for the dog was made UNTIL I CHECKED IN. A bit late then to change my mind and find somewhere else. If the extra charge for car parking and for the dog had been made clear at the time of booking I would have gone elsewhere. £15 extra for a little dog! The receptionist told me the room wouldn't be deep cleaned so what was the extra charge for?Guest review byAnonymous

We had a lovely family room which was clean and comfy. Staff were all really friendly. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Gretna Green is a beautiful place with lots of history.
