It was good to have a ground floor room as we always travel with our dog. The staff were all very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them. The bedroom was large with plenty of room and power sockets. Shower was powerful and good temperature. There is a simple good menu including burgers, soup, homemade cakes etc.

We stayed at this hotel last year and in our review we said that it was tired and needed to be updated. Well this has happened and the difference was very noticeable, the exterior was looking more cheery. The interior had been given a complete makeover from reception, bar/restaurant to the bedrooms. A fresh cooked breakfast to your liking is provided every morning and there is an option to have an evening meal, the menu is not extensive, however, what is available is of a very good standard and reasonably priced. All of the staff from check-in/out and during our stay were extremely pleasant and helpful. 15 minute walk into the city centre.

What guests said about Hardingstone:

4.0

No instructions lfor heating or tv left

No instructions lfor heating or tv left No wine glasses (we had to go back out and buy some) Rooms were sparse, no mirrors, no bedroom furniture, no secondary lamps anywhere, not enough crockery for the 5 people it was supposed to accommodate. En suite was shabby. Cigarette ends and beer bottles in the garden No coat hangers It was not accurately described. Calling it South Cottage was misleading. It was cold and empty It wasn't in Hardingstone village

The family are absolutely lovely, it’s close to everything and the access was easy to the room situated at the side of the house. I called the mobile number and they answered promptly advising where and how to get in. The only downside if any was no tea bags milk or cup. Only kettle and no sugar with mint tea. It was very cold when we came home late and I was unable to work out the radiator being tired. There was a plug in heater in the waldrobe but I was reluctant to leave that running while asleep. Beautiful area nice and helpful people/family. Would stay again if the above where looked into 😀
