Fantastic place to visit - off the beaten track for tourists but well worth a visit or a stay - theres something for everyone. Loads of places to stay and eat - Haverigg Chippy and Londis well worth a visit. Wonderful coastal views and walks, walks around the RSPB reserve that's surrounded by a lake and sea, only an hour away (driving) to Windermere and Ambleside - but set off really early to beat the mad rush to get best parking.

don't go. spend your money in a place that appreciate it unless you wish to listen to foul mouthed people in the harbour hotel and have to put up with the rude and arrogant people who live there that's if they are not smoking drugs on the beach. the nicest people we met were the people on holiday and two ladies one of which had moved there 5 years ago. i am sorry to say we didn't get the opportunity to speak to any nice people who live there and no doubt they do but from the moment we arrived we were spoken to like dirt and the mad paint lady who was going around painting the pavements with the words no parking should really be spoken to by the local council and or police.
