small well preserved village 20 minutes on the bus from Ambleside and Consiton, but there are lots of places to eat and spend your money. It is restricted in the centre to delivery vehicles only so it is pleasingly quiet. You can even charge your EV in one of the car parks. There are many walks directly from the village.

Hawkshead is a lovely village, with enough to do without being busy or over-commercial.All the places we visited were friendly, good value and authentic. Walks around the village are lovely, covering a range of abilities. Hawkshead also has historical importance, with its links to Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

Hawkshead is a tranquil little village, it has quite a few bed and breakfast and pubs. There is nowhere better to stay than this little gem, if you’re just going for a meal there are plenty of places to go. Even if not staying there it’s well worth the visit. The trip across the ferry makes the holiday.

We stayed for 4 nights which allowed us to explore Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside and Hardnott pass/Roman fort which was stunning. We could have easily stayed another day or two, but 4 days and nights means we're keen for more another time. Hawkshead itself is a perfect spot as a base for exploring further afield in the lakes. It is a relatively quiet village after the tourists go home, but there are two lovely pubs which give just the right amount of life for us. If you're looking for a livelier evening scene, Ambleside ticks those boxes.

The Hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and worth every penny. There are nice pubs, cafes & a chippy within easy walking distance that provide meals. The Old School House is very dog friendly, the property is situated very close to the village centre, while Hawkshead is a good base for travelling around Cumbria, both by car and the regular bus service.

We initially booked the pod but because there was a school trip of primary students using all the other pods, they kindly moved us to the larger tents to make our experience more enjoyable and not surrounded by overly excited kids. And honestly, from the location, the view, and the facilities, it's enough to say this made our stay in Lake District very memorable.

Our room was absolutely stunning with the free standing bath. Very clean. Lovely extra touches like coffee machine and biscuits and little mini fridge. Breakfast was included and such great choice. We chose to eat there at night as well and the quality of food was brilliant. Very dog friendly place. Staff were very chatty and helpful when we had questions.

Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of locally sourced produce. The hosts were engaging and knowledgeable of the local area and happy to make recommendations. A great place to stay for the local Pubs and dining options and you could jump on a bus and visit other villages around the lake district if walking was not your thing.

It was so clean and cozy. The outside grounds were beautiful and well kept. This was a special beak for my son and I as it was the second anniversary of losing my husband to dementia. We loved the Lake District .
