small well preserved village 20 minutes on the bus from Ambleside and Consiton, but there are lots of places to eat and spend your money. It is restricted in the centre to delivery vehicles only so it is pleasingly quiet. You can even charge your EV in one of the car parks. There are many walks directly from the village.

Hawkshead is a lovely village, with enough to do without being busy or over-commercial.All the places we visited were friendly, good value and authentic. Walks around the village are lovely, covering a range of abilities. Hawkshead also has historical importance, with its links to Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

Hawkshead is a tranquil little village, it has quite a few bed and breakfast and pubs. There is nowhere better to stay than this little gem, if you’re just going for a meal there are plenty of places to go. Even if not staying there it’s well worth the visit. The trip across the ferry makes the holiday.

We stayed for 4 nights which allowed us to explore Hawkshead, Coniston, Ambleside and Hardnott pass/Roman fort which was stunning. We could have easily stayed another day or two, but 4 days and nights means we're keen for more another time. Hawkshead itself is a perfect spot as a base for exploring further afield in the lakes. It is a relatively quiet village after the tourists go home, but there are two lovely pubs which give just the right amount of life for us. If you're looking for a livelier evening scene, Ambleside ticks those boxes.

I spent 2 nights in the Hawkshead Suites, and it was absolutely wonderful! The accommodation was exceptional – the breakfast hamper was delicious and varied, and the bed and mattress were incredibly comfortable. A lovely surprise was the little goodbye bag with snacks – such a thoughtful touch! The hot tub was amazing and made the experience even more relaxing. We also loved the fireplace – it created such a cosy and warm atmosphere in the evenings. We had a truly fantastic weekend and would definitely love to come back!

The house was absolutely beautiful and the room was lovely - very clean, with a comfy bed and big bathroom. The host, Chris, was very welcoming and gave us excellent suggestions on what to do and where to go, which was really helpful. The breakfasts were all delicious and the views from the dining rooms were gorgeous. The location is also great, very close to Hawkshead which was walkable and very central in the Lake District so that getting around was easy.

We had two rooms, both clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfy beds. The shower pressure was excellent and plenty of hot water. The coffee pods a real treat, good coffee for when we woke up. The accommodation was perfectly located for the centre of Hawkshead and yet so wonderfully quiet at night - a very good night's sleep had! Would highly recommend!
