Beautiful house, the bedrooms and bathrooms were really well decorated and were spotless. The hosts were just lovely and the breakfast was amazing. They couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. Highly recommend.

We loved our 2 night stay here, during a trip to UK from Australia. Steve and his staff were very friendly and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We had both evening meals in the pub and the food was delicious and great value for money. The pub was cosy and friendly. Steve sat in the bar chatting to us one of the nights- a great friendly guy! Our room was an outside one, which suited us. Decent size, very clean and tidy. Heating great during the cold weather. Outside location is beautiful. Lake at the back of the property was gorgeous and nice to walk around. Very picturesque. It had snowed the day we arrived, so looked even more beautiful. The lake completely froze over. Our 14 year old son loved skimming pieces of ice across the surface of the lake. Big novelty for him, coming from Australia. The breakfast included each day was great. A few hot options to choose from also the usual toast, cereals, yoghurts, tea/coffee etc. Steve the owner/Chef would ask us what we wanted and was very open to mixing up the menu if we preferred something different to what was offered .The yolk colour of the local eggs were amazing!! Steve said they only use regular local produce. During our stay, Steve and his staff allowed us to use their commercial washing machine and drier for our clothes. This was completely complimentary and included all washing liquid. One morning we had to be out early.Steve’s laundry staff allowed us to put a load of washing on and said they’d “ take care of the rest”. When we returned for the day, our clothes had been washed and dried and placed back on our bed in the room. Amazing service! On our last day, Steve allowed us a late check out at 3pm with no extra charge. This is not a usual service you normally get! Plenty of room for parking.

Not sure where the 5.9 rating is coming from – I honestly can’t agree with it. The staff were absolutely lovely and super helpful. Great, quiet location with a nice pub and kitchen, plus a playground right next to the property. Dog friendly too! Rooms were clean and spacious, and it’s all very budget-friendly. Maybe it’s under new management, don’t know. Either way, the place is brilliant now.

Lovely pub nice feel and decorated with great xmas decs. The staff were very friendly and would definitely visit again just for a drinks to meet up with friends. The room was very clean and comfortable bed, nice bedding but would have like a king size bed but we had a double ( room 16) the only thing that was not good and that was the breakfast, bacon was tough and the breakfast not hot, could have done with more mushrooms, and another half tomatoes, even a bit of black pudding would have been nice 😉

I stayed here as I was on a course at the Fleet Air Arm...

I stayed here as I was on a course at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. Which is just up the road, so tis is the best place to stay in the area. There is a small triangle town with a restaurant and couple of pubs. Nice bit of history there as well.

Pretty little town, with ancient origins, good footpaths and a couple of super pubs. There is also an excellent Italian restaurant. Make sure that you visit the Florist too, alongside the flowers she sells an eclectic mix of old and new - with a high standard of service.

Gorgeous little village - we stayed there because we'd...

Gorgeous little village - we stayed there because we'd visited the Haynes Car Museum and had been go-karting during the day. It really was a perfect place to stay, nice large room, comfy beds, very clean, nice bar and incredible breakfast. We headed next door to the Italian for dinner which was equally as lovely and then headed off to Lyme Regis the following morning.

We had a lovely stay at the Ilchester Arms, communication prior to arrival was amazing we arranged a late check-up due to arriving after a wedding. Staff were lovely. The room was amazing, a beautiful spacious room with huge en suite. We would 100% stay again if we are ever in the area

We are returning guests and absolutely loved our stay. Cosy hotel with amazing friendly staff, the next Mexican restaurant is superb and in the mornings there is a first class breakfast with loads of choice. Highly recommended.

The ambience of the hotel was just what we were looking for. The staff were not only friendly, but really interested in our holiday. Dinner and breakfast were very enjoyable. A drink in the “snug” before dinner was so relaxing.

Only stayed at hotel for a wedding. Room comfortable. Stayed two nights. Room. Maid Don't give us clean towels as very hot day. She service the tea tray.only. Breakfast was ok. Having to pay £10 each for it.
