I only wanted bed and breakfast for one night.

I only wanted bed and breakfast for one night. I knew this venue could not offer breakfast when I booked, but it was priced at a rate that buying breakfast elsewhere made it a reasonable stop-over. The village is not on a main route to anywhere so is a quiet location within reach of lots of visitor locations and major business areas. I will be looking to stop here when I next visit the area in September and again in December.

Best pub to eat and relax is The Crown, opposite the Church.

Best pub to eat and relax is The Crown, opposite the Church. Their are some lovely country walks. The George and Born has a more lively feel in the evening and food is more down to earth, and accommodation is clean and sufficient, but small rooms. Met our needs!

The only reason we were in the area was to visit our son and grandson. Notmally we would have stayed with them but they are the process of moving so it was not possible to stay with them.. We did not even look round Kingsclere so sorry can not comment on it.

Room 3 was nice, and comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities, breakfast was enough, staff friendly. Being a public house noisy until closing due to a party. Only stayed the one night as we were travelling through.

We stayed at Bel and the Dragon and would happily stay again. The staff were friendly and efficient. The place was spotlessly clean and the food exceeded our expectations. The bedroom was very comfortably furnished and the bed was just right, plenty of comfortable pillows and high quality bedding. The bathroom has lovely products, I particularly liked the fact that single use products were not used, much more green to have refillable containers. We stayed one night to be close the Bombay Sapphire distillery, and would definitely stay again,

We had a great stay here. A great little pub and the new owners were so friendly and accommodating. The staff were also lovely. Basic rooms out the back with everything we needed and clean. Great band on the Friday. A little far out for the festival at Newbury showground for us but the bus service to Newbury itself is very good. The village of Kingsclere is lovely with lots of history and very pretty.

It was nice to see there has been a large improvement in quality of food, loved my meal; the hotel should though listen to previous feedback, specifically regards providing lighting between the hotel & restaurant (some 150 yards away).

Although Kingsclare does not have much in the way of facilities, it is well placed to explore the local area provided you have your own transport. The hotel restaurant serves good food in the evening and excellent breakfasts.

That there was a bath and shower. The beds are very comfy and large in size. A selection of pillows for the bed to choose from. Staff members were polite and helpful. Location of hotel. Breakfast was delicious.

Only short drive for Newbury office but was located on surprisingly busy junction in Kingsclere village. Warm welcome and good beers.
