Superb.

Superb. Couldn't have asked for a lovelier accommodation-the view was spectacular, the facilities were amazing, place was cosy, comfortable with all creature comforts & carpark-just a few minutes walk away from waterfall, supermarket, river, etc. Wished we could have stayed longer. Fully recommend it!

Kinlochleven is a lovely picturesque little town situated on loch Leven. Being only a short distance from Glencoe, Fort William & Glen Finnan made this the perfect location for me to stay for a couple of nights.

Kinlochleven is close to Glencoe and we used it as a base for Glencoe activities. We hiked the Hidden Valley, Grey Mare's Falls, Steall Waterfall and went to the Hagrid's Hut filming site. We also went to the Crafts and Things store and cafe. It was easy enough to drive to Glencoe, the roads are windy but not over-travelled.

Seemed like a cute town at first but had a weird vibe once you got into the town, it was very dead and kind of rundown (garbages overflowing, cigarettes in the river). The campsite we stayed at was barely a campsite, it was a strip of grass with glamping pods and picnic tables on it and right next to some industrial thing, very depressing for anyone who has actually been camping. The little store had a nice selection and the coffee shop employees were very friendly with good coffee and sandwiches to offer. Be prepared if you're hiking the west highland way as the hike down to this town is long and suffering. Wouldn't visit again unless doing the WHW.

Unless you're walking the West Highland Way you will need a car. The village isn't big, but has a shop if you need anything quickly. The setting and views of the highlands and loch is stunning

When we arrived we walked into the pub area and was greeted by the lady who worked behind the bar ( sorry i didnt get her name ) she was so lovely and made us feel welcome after a wet 9 mile walk from Kings House Hotel, We ordered drinks and home made mince and tatties while we waited for our room. Our room was clean and cosey with a comfy bed and an ensuite toilet and shower. In the morning we had a hearty breakfast before heading out to Fort William.

The boiler was broken so there was ok hot water in the rooms. This can’t be helped - things happen. The campsite showers were working but not in the best conditions. The rooms have been finished nicely and are comfortable but the heaters did not work. The breakfast was poor. The two staff that seemed to be doing everything from front of house and cooking were run off of their feet. Working hard but with far far too much for them to be doing.

Great views out over the loch. Convenient location for hikers & bikers. There's a bar. They're open even when the rest of Kinlochleven is closed for winter. There are also kitchen facilities in a separate shed - they might be depressing, but there's a functional sink, microwave, & kettle. You didn't come to Kinlochleven for five-star luxury; you came for the landscape, and that is definitely here.
