FAQs about hotels in Leeds

Stylish, Stately and A Shopping Haven!

Between Bronte Country and the Yorkshire Dales, Leeds is a stately city with a wealth of impressive Georgian and Victorian buildings. The most celebrated is the town hall, a Grade I-listed gem with a huge clock tower supported by columns. Just around the corner is the understated Leeds Cathedral, and between the two is Millennium Square, a large urban space that plays host to outdoor concerts and a German Christmas market.

Shopping in Leeds is fantastic. Kirkgate Market is Europe’s largest covered market, and the magnificent, round Corn Exchange is home to exclusive boutiques. The city also has the first Harvey Nichols outside of London, as well as the usual high street brands.

As home to 2 large universities, Leeds has a young and vibrant vibe. It has repeatedly been voted the clubbing capital of the UK and is home to the Leeds Festival, an annual music event that attracts thousands.

The city also has excellent sporting pedigree. Internationals are held at Headingley cricket ground, and Leeds United FC and the Leeds Rhinos rugby league team are well-known names in their fields.

On the outskirts of the city are wonderful Roundhay Park, Kirkstall Abbey and Leeds-Bradford International Airport. Leeds accommodation on Booking.com covers all areas of this elegant city.

I've never visited Leeds before, but I liked what I found. The hidden pubs are a treasure. The city is worth exploring. It has a good shopping centre, if that's your cup of tea. I visit an arts museum, which was certainly worth a morning. I do not recommend the restaurants (perhaps I just had dreadful luck): go eat in a non-chain café, such as in the covered market fairly close to the bus station, for good basic food.

check you know about the car parking as it's limited to 3pm the next day and not 24 hours. Also it's worth upgrading and having IHG club membership as you get complimentary drinks and canapes between 5-7pm.

The city itself has a lot going on but is also a 30-minute train ride from other interesting towns, like York, Saltaire, and Ilkley. Easy to get around by food, despite the awful freeways that carve up the city and the major construction at the railway station.

Chose Leeds to stay overnight on my way to Edinburgh, wish I chose elsewhere because the 'bus gates', so bus only zones, are not signposted, the Radisson hotel was disappointing due to a broken shower heating element in the first room, broken air conditioning in the second room and a grumpy night manager. The breakfast was nice and the wait staff were friendly. We went to Blue Pavilion for dinner and it was style over substance.

Leeds is a city full of culture historic buildings and places and university. The areas near the river are getting more regeneration to make it attractive to locals and tourists. It’s buzzing with young people and night life. There’s a range of galleries and museums ,the library is a must visit . The variety of Restaurants and cafes offer satisfaction to all tastes and ages. I was pleasantly impressed with what Leeds has to offer. And the future is bright for this lovely city.

Excellent customer service. Was greeted by a friendly and polite member of staff who allowed us to check in early as well as pay for parking so that we didn't have anything to worry about upon checkout time. Parking was £15 which was reasonable for Leeds city centre, and we were able to find a spot easily. The room was nice and clean, with all the extra amenities, including ironing board, kettle, and fridge. Hotel was nicely situated too and was not noisy despite being in the city centre.

Excellent location for Leeds City centre. Lovely decor in all areas & spotlessly clean. Reception staff very welcoming & helpful. Bedroom was comfortable & spacious. Made use of the pool early morning along with the sauna and thoroughly enjoyed it.There was enough choice at breakfast & the food was to a good standard in pleasant surroundings. I would definitely use this hotel again if l came back to Leeds.

The Dakota is a luxury hotel, in a good central location, with excellent staff. Our room was a decent size, nicely decorated, well equipped and clean. The bar area was nice (although at £15.00 for two beers was expensive, even by Leeds city centre prices) and all other public areas were well decorated and clean. This has now become our go-to hotel when we visit Leeds.

The beds are always amazing and comfortable. the décor was as expected for a Leonardo hotel. we had advised reception that our previous stay in the same hotel had been very cold and the heating never came on. She gave us a complimentary breakfast. Supermarket 2 minutes away and a nice part of Leeds , with very close accessibility to the city centre.
