This place was amazing the staff really friendly nothing too much a problem for them. The atmosphere is so chilled and wellcoming its warming and inviting and they treat you like an individual rather than just another customer. i arrived starving needing food late at 5pm, they accomadated me at 5.30 pm sooo grateful. as In the village places dident open till 7pm. Lovely touches personnal name plaque on the table, plenty of goodies in the room the resturant was beautiful . with a roaring fire. and importantly all the food is freshly made top class. I cant say a bad thing about my stay , im honoured to have experienced living in the house of Alfred Russel Wallace from all those years ago,,,.Spring time im back!

Friendly welcome we were then taken to our room and we were both well pleased with it,had everything to hand,we then returned downstairs had a drink at the bar then ordered a meal .Food was great and decided to stay with a couple more drinks.After a comfortable night went down and enjoyed the full cooked breakfast,please thank your staff . Lovely relaxed place, great friendly staff and everything was arranged including dinner booking when we arrived. Food was just what was needed and great value, beer was just right as well in front of the fire after dinner, proper breakfast in the morning.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped and a lovely selection for a continental breakfast. Restaurant offered great food and it was a lovely place to stay. We would have stayed longer but it was booked up.

Everything was fresh and new, the view across the fields was amazing. The little kitchen was fabulous and a little fridge was handy. The bread and butter plus Welsh Cakes was a lovely treat. Real coffee and a cafeteria was also provided. The area was pretty and our little dog enjoyed watching the world go by through the low window. Watching the horse across the road getting out to bed was nice, the chirping of birds and the calling of sheep was calming and enjoyable.

A nice accommodation and area let down by lack of attention...

A nice accommodation and area let down by lack of attention to detail. Issues mentioned by other visitors remain. Needs better cleaning, toilet seat replacing as reeked of urine. Needs sheets that fit beds and checked to remove hairs so guests don't have to. Needs better bedding. New kettle needed. I would only stay again if I received some money back and issues detailed to host were rectified.

Beyond our expectations, at first we just sat in the car and...

Beyond our expectations, at first we just sat in the car and cried and hugged that we'd be staying there before going to see Shania Twain and Rag n Bone man in concert, then we entered the lodge and just went from room to room with our mouths open and hugged We've both had such a hard time lately with devastating loss in the family that it was nice to have some downtime and relax for a long weekend, we wanted to stay longer but hopefully return someday. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The ONLY thing missing was a comment/guest book.
