Went to watch Scotland v Figi. Great stay. I'm gluten-free and enjoyed the schlar cornflakes and the Dove bodywash shampoo, etc, much better than other rival hotels

Hospitality was great, though had to approach bar to find someone to check in, the hotel and bar was an older but very well loved place, rooms were small but comfortable and decent bathrooms for each. Clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Bar downstairs was well stocked for drinks and the small menu was very good. Food was quick and delicious and dessert was incredible. Breakfast was included and we had access to the full breakfast menu- food was again great and quick. Parking was behind the building, small area but locked overnight. Hotel was a short walk from the beach, a leisure centre and a park with playground. The staff were all fantastic, helpful and friendly, they had a very genuine Scottish charm.

Nice large cottage with individual rooms. Private bathroom and tea/coffee facilities. Additionally, there is a pleasant common reading room at the back of the cottage. Whilst on a busy road, we did not hear any noise from our room towards the rear of the cottage. There is a very nice pub 4 minutes up the road which does a variety of pub food. The facilities matched the price.

The house was perfect for us. It was beautifully decorated and had a spacious living room and bedrooms. All of the bedrooms were ensuite, which was brilliant for 2 children and a disabled adult, who were part of our family group of 5. It was so near to the beach and a lovely park, and also handy for Burntisland and Deep Sea World, which the children were keen to visit. There was a very nice welcome pack as well. For a person with limited mobility, it was a very short distance from the car to the front door, and it had handrails fitted to the whole staircase, which was great. We had a lovely little cafe at the end of the road and a general store on the main street which was open till 8.00. It was a typical Fife village with very narrow streets, but as long as you took your time, it was fine. There wasn't a lot of parking on the street but we had been forewarned about this by our hosts and given advice how to manage it, so we always managed to park our car at the house during our break.. Again, this is very typical of Fife coastal villages, so it didn't come as a surprise. The house fitted all of our needs perfectly and we had a wonderful break. We will definitely be back and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

    Having left the madness of Edinburgh attending the festival,...

    Having left the madness of Edinburgh attending the festival, we picked Lochgelly for price and location. Great to spend a day doing all the sights around Stirling Castle. Then the following day did a coastal walk out of Elie. It is close to Kirkcaldy for a nice dinner out - recommend the Japanese restaurant here.

    Lochgelly is situated close to the A92 Dual Carriageway...

    Lochgelly is situated close to the A92 Dual Carriageway which provides good access to the North and the South of the region. The A92 links up with the M9 and provides quick access into Edinburgh and Northern towns.
