The staff at the hotel made this an excellent stay. They were helpful, friendly, and fun particularly Caroline and Sandra. Caroline gave us lots of helpful advice and travel tips. They always seemed so happy. Food was great, location perfect and the hotel was value for money. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The most welcoming arrival we have experienced in any properties we have stayed in. The place is spotlessly clean and we were welcomed by the friendliest host Richard. We were spoiled at breakfast by both Richard and Robert, the best meal we had everyday. The view was breathtaking and we’re already looking forward to coming back to the property.

Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit.

Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit. Plenty of great pubs and places to eat set in a very picturesque environment. The cliff railway was interesting to ride on and the Exmoor visitors centre was very informative. The valley of rocks was amazing to visit.

Lynton is a lovely small village with all amenities you need. Couple of pubs with good food and drink. Some excellent food restaurants especially the Kensington for steaks. The Green house was brilliant for early morning coffee and fry up. If going to Lynemouth then take the train - walking up and down ( we did both) is brutal and you need to be fit and healthy to do either.

Lynton isn't the easiest place to drive to but well worth the effort. We avoided Porlock Hill (we have a very old car) and used the toll road. It costs £3 but the views are wonderful. Lynton itself has plenty of places to eat, a good Arts and Crafts Centre plus a second-hand community bookshop, as well as lots of other interesting shops. It's a lovely little town just to wander round and of course you have the cliff railway to take you down to Lynmouth.

Lynton is a lovely little town, plenty of eating places. The only down side is the hill getting there, it is very, and the turn into Lynton is very sharp. Choughs Nest Hotel is a lovely place good views, but the breakfast was not up to much for me, and it's the only hotel we've stayed in where you don't get any bottles of water.

Both Lynton and Lynmouth are beautiful villages with many shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s lovely to just walk round in the evening too. There is the added bonuses of the vehicular tram and a cute independent cinema. Lynton is between Minehead and Barnstaple, so you can easily get to anywhere you would like to go in between. It’s a perfect central location.

Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff. Excellent location for anyone hiking the the South West Coast Path. The en-suite room was well appointed with a combined bath and shower, the former an unexpected luxury after a hard day's walk. The bed was very comfortable and I had one of my best night's sleep on the trail to date. The actual town of Lynton and Lynmouth is very beautiful with lots of shops, pubs and other activities to keep one occupied.

Peter was a very professional host, nothing was a problem and always smiling and put you at ease. We ate both nights here and the food choice was exceptional and very well presented. The sea view and sunrise in the morning was an added bonus. A great place to stay if visiting Lynton and Lynmouth.
