Well equipped, tastefully furnished and very convenient for the station for visits to Edinburgh and Burntisland. Although close to the station, it was a very quiet road and not much noise from the neighbours. There was a well stocked co-op a short walk away and a couple of pubs (but didn't try them).

Staff. Ryan helped get our gps working for us where we had failed. A big help when traveling with a rental car. Thanks Ryan. Kitchen staff made us toast and tea when we were a little late for breakfast time hours. Cafeteria staff ordered us a lunch sandwich in mid afternoon after we had checked in. All staff were friendly and helpful.

My stay at the Railway Inn was great. The room was very clean, bright and provided me with a perfect night’s rest. The staff member was helpful and accommodated my late check-in and changing of times with no problems. I particularly enjoyed the location. The Beach was only two-minute walk and is spectacular and there is a row of stores around the corner. This was my best stay in Scotland. I will definitely stay there again.

    Markinch is a great little town.

    Markinch is a great little town. The train service is good and the bus service is also handy. Both the Laurel Bank and Balbirnie Hotels offer good dining options. Jamie's Bar is a good local pub with character. There are 2 decent supermarkets as well as a 2 good Chinese takeaways and a few cafes. Nice place to stay.

    Very quiet place with very few shops. Not much going on!

    Very quiet place with very few shops. Not much going on! We were attending a wedding at a local hotel which was why we stayed there. Had a lovely meal at the Laurel bank hotel which was very reasonable.

    I chose to stay due to having the railway station a couple...

    I chose to stay due to having the railway station a couple of minutes walk away for visiting family and had a very warm welcome from Jake (bar man) who showed me where the room was. The room was well equipped with tea and coffee facilities, hair dryer and fan heater should you need it. Big wall mounted TV with Netflix/Apple TV etc. En-suite had ample towels and toiletries and again very clean. Lovely stay and I’ll definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family.
