The Cottage is an old style 2-UP/2DOWN and has been beautifully set up and decorated. It is centrally located in the village and everything is within walking distance. Parking (on the street) was not a problem during our visit in October. It is comfortable and cosy, and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils for those who like to cook their own meals. The washing machine and clothes rack were a blessing. We highly recommend this accommodation and the Butcher Shop next door.

The property was charming, it had real character and was very spacious and well furnished. The hotel owners, Columb and Michelle, were extremely helpful both before and during our stay. Overall, we were absolutely delighted thay we chose to go there.

Nice little town, pleasant, they have markets on Wednesday and Saturday but we didn’t make it for this but had a lovely meal at The kings head, we was travelling staying at some local Wensleydale lodges, so a nice mix for a one night stay

We visited The Forbidden Corner, which was great fun.

We visited The Forbidden Corner, which was great fun. Our granddaughter is 6 and she thought it was brilliant, especially as it was the day before Halloween. Just stayed in Masham for 1 night, then to Fountains Abbey the following day. The square in Masham is lovely and would have looked round. Must go again and stay longer.

Masham is a beer drinkers paradise.

Masham is a beer drinkers paradise. There are two breweries, both with visitors centres and brewery taps. The 4 pubs in the small town all serve the local beers. There are plenty of cafes for that well earned coffee and cake, after exploring the local area on a walk or two. There is a market on Saturdays, however as most of the parking spaces are in the marketplace, this can make parking a challenge.

Masham is a lovely market town full of character.

Masham is a lovely market town full of character. Ideal location for touring the area. We stayed and ate at the Kings Head Hotel which is directly opposite the market square which had plenty of free parking. The hotel staff made everyone welcome and could not do enough to assist making the stay memorable. Masham is also home of The Black Sheep Brewery and the tour was excellent.

A beautiful archetypal English market town on the fringe of...

A beautiful archetypal English market town on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales. Masham's market square is possibly the best example of this rural feature anywhere. Local produce is widely available in the town's pubs, hotels and shops and the locally-brewed ales are, of course, excellent.

Hotel in middle of Masham .lovely old pub with character.our room was on the top floor small but everything g you need. With it being old no air con but a fan was provided but you couldn't open the sash window fully for safety reasons so as it was a very warm evening room was a bit too warm. Breakfast well presented but not much choice , cereals juice fruit and a cooked breakfast. Ate in the pub the food was lovely.

Lovely flow out to the garden. Great location in the centre of Masham. Fabulous butchers across the road. All pubs and breweries easy walking distance. We were worried about parking, but got to park 2 cars on the road or in long stay, which is a couple of minutes walk down some stairs.

Love the Kings Head, great location and the room is brilliant as it’s lovely and quiet ( apart from the fire alarm-didn’t matter as it was nearly the time we get up). Great breakfast and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Superb dinner on both nights as well.

Lovely modern, spacious accommodation which was ultra clean. Located at the end of a country lane with immediate access to country walks and within 10 min walk to Masham square. Great base for Yorkshire Dales.
