Room overlooking the sea, beautiful room, very welcoming friendly staff. Food amazing. The village where the prisoner was filmed was a real treat, absolutely perfect to be honest.

The setting of this place is absolutely stunning, very peaceful despite there being lots of people there. The woodland escape suite was perfect, everything you needed, situated very close the main building and restaurant. The staff could not do enough and were lovely. Overall a fantastic stay and we shall be back

Great small hotel at the foot of the Harlech Castle hill with very friendly hosts. We had a comfortable room with a castle view and enjoyed a beer and chips in the hotel bar in the evening. The breakfast was excellent. Good starting point for the Snowdonia national park or the Harlech beach!

Amazing room with a view. Absolutely excellent food, we didn’t need to go anywhere else! The breakfast was perfect. The staff were extremely attentive, and welcoming! I didn’t want to go home!

All the staff in Royal Sportsman Hotel were super nice but professional — offering suggestions on where to eat, what to do, how to go to attractions etc. They were clearly short-staffed — I saw many of them worked long hours (especially the F&B members) but yet they were cheery and helpful to me throughout my stay. The room was exceptional, cosy and clean. The location was only 5 minutes walk from Porthmadog train station.

Very interesting setting. Like US movie set somewhere in West Virginia. Spooky at night. Could not find late check in desk. Some reasonable signage would help. Also on departure could not find way out ;) kept running around the same crossings.
