My grandparents used to live in Paignton, so I have a personal connection to the town. I first stayed there when I was 2 years old. The town is somewhat shabbier than it used to be, and the range of shops in the town centre is more limited. Howeverm I would still recommend it as a good place to stay, especially for young families and pensioners. The hotel,we stayed at was great,5 mins from the beach and pier,and about 10-15 mins from the high street,train station and bus station,had all the amenities that we required,the people were friendly and welcoming,and it was so clean and tidy,can't wait to return next year. Would recommend anyone to visit,or stay even for a few days.The zoo is only about 10 mins away by car,or you could walk it (if you are up to it)or there is a bus that drops you right outside the zoo. We even went to Torquay for a few hours,(5mins by train) We had fish n chips on the pier,a jacket potato from a place called the spud shack,( highly recommend) There were also cafes and bites,couple of pubs,and other eateries,also a place called Devon's finest,there cakes,are so delicious. hmmmmm😋😋😋, Getting around was no problem,even for wheelchair users.Guest review byHillUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We've been coming to Paignton for a few years now its such a lovely place to stay. There are plenty of places to stay and everything is on your doorstep. The beach is very close to all the hotels along with shops and arcades and lovely pier. I recommend fairy cove which is a small beach if you want a bit of quiet time. Theres also a small harbour with lovely boat trips to nearby Torquay,Brixham and Dartmouth and let's not forget the steam train! . Like most places it could do with a bit of updating but don't let that stop you visiting we think it's fabulous.Guest review byJohn - 10.0

The owners were fantastic and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The Breakfast was more than enough and had plenty of choice to suit everyone.
