A picturesque area despite the fact it rained continually throughout the time we spent there. The village of Porlock is very characterful and historic. Whatever the weather, Exmoor always has something to offer.

Porlock is a charming village, there are plenty of restaurants , the weir is well worth a visit great pub and old interesting buildings. Take a climb up Porlock Hill or for a more sedate route try the estate toll road, lovely views across the estuary. Visit nearby Lynmouth, Lynton and Minehead all within easy reach. Having visited many times Porlock still retains character and is typically English.

Porlock is a delightful village in a gorgeous location with lots of hotels, B&Bs, pubs and Cafes. It has a strong literary association, particularly with the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. It lies on the Coleridge Way and the Southwest Coast Path. Porlock Weir is a lovely, tranquil spot.

Porlock, on the north coast of Somerset, is a delightful village that offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. My recent visit to Porlock left me thoroughly enchanted by its natural beauty and quaint charm. The village backs onto the breathtaking landscapes of Exmoor National Park providing a stunning picture of rolling hills and lush greenery. The coastal views are spectacular, especially from Porlock Weir, where the dramatic meeting of land and sea creates a mesmerising sight. Walking through the village, I was struck by the picturesque cottages, charming shops, and friendly locals who made me feel welcome. Porlock's historical allure is evident in its well-preserved buildings and the stories they have to share with visitors. One of the highlights of my visit was exploring the coast. Whether going up to the scenic Porlock Hill for panoramic views or enjoying a leisurely stroll along the coastal paths, there was no shortage of outdoor adventures. Overall, Porlock in Somerset is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, historical charm, and warm hospitality. It's a destination that promises relaxation, adventure, and a touch of magic. I can't wait to return and experience more of what this enchanting village has to offer.

Lovely location. East to get to. There's plenty of parking very close to the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a lively sea view from our room. The breakfast options were really good. Full cooked menu plus all the usual toast, cereal and fruit. Yoghurt and juices. We didn't get an evening meal as there was no availability in the restaurant so definately best to book a table as it is very popular.
